Deboer, I assume, is fully capable of recruiting players ON HIS ROSTER to stay on his roster. If he can’t keep his roster together, that’s his problem, and doesn’t serve as a good predictor of future success.

Funny thing is they only have 1 person to blame for the timing and the follow-on effects that had.
SABAN knew the rules, and this is definitely going to reset the expectations in Tuscaloosa; probably setting up his successor to not have nearly the success that he enjoyed. Wouldn't want to share that recognition.

Not the same thing at all. Bama and other teams in its situation are put in a one way transfer portal situation where their entire roster is fair game but they have no ability to go out and seek transfers from other teams. The rule is ridiculous. I’m not weeping for Bama, but I’d be pissed if Kelly bolted and this happened to us.
