When my son was little, he broke out in a rash after getting him new sheets. We just got in that habit of washing everything new packaged or not.

Exactly my take on this. To me, new clothes have an unpleasant smell, so they go in the washer before I wear them.

I wash them just to get the smell of the store out of the clothes. I wash new jeans to make them more comfortable. They're all stiff and scratchy to me if you don't wash jeans.

I wash them. Don’t care if buying online or in store. Especially in store. Don’t know who has tried on those clothes before I did.

I don't wash new stuff but I don't fault anyone that does. I get the theoretical concern that someone else you don't know has potentially tried that garment on before but my laziness exceeds my germaphobia.

I used to not care and just wear new clothes off the rack then my friend said I was trashy for not washing new clothes before wearing them. I felt guilty and now I wash all new clothes before wearing them. I feel better now that I'm not trashy.

Everything but socks. I like the feel of new socks so for the first wear I just take them straight out the pack.

I try to avoid washing new clothes for at least 6 months.

Usually get washed first. But I am not adverse to just wearing either.
