re: Bryant-Denny concessions made me truly realize how incompetent Tiger Stadium is (pics)

The water stations were great and could be a much welcome addition to Tiger Stadium.
The concessions were not uniform throughout Bryant-Denny though. That setup you have pictured is great and is similar to Alex Box, which moves along nicely. The concessions where we were last weekend at Bryant-Denny had 5 items to order and each had to be ordered with the cashier. It was no more efficient than anywhere else. Your options were hot dogs, sausage dogs, nachos, pretzel, and popcorn. They also had soft drinks. Beer was a separate station.

I'd volunteer my time to get things right for the fans if I knew who to talk with and they would allow and provide for change...

I am in no way excusing the quality of concessions at TS as they are deplorable. I have heard it said from a few people with LSU that the main issue is the age and layout of the lower bowl. There is no central concourse, no connectivity between the four points of the stadium, no service elevators or stairwells, and no centralized kitchen, prep area, or food storage. I have not been in either of the "new" upper decks and have no idea of the infrastructure in those areas. Are concessions there just as shitty?
Obviously, those things are critical to supplying a quality product at a reasonable typical stadium cost, but it seems knowing this, they could develop a work around in some fashion. Or not? It is common sense though, that without a massive upgrade to basic infrastructure, they will never be at the level of a modern or remodeled stadium.

I was going to downvote until I read this:

Also they charge $10.50 for a beer, and with this defense I was forced to buy a dozen of them to get through the night

Especially when it's overpriced, cold, and not good, and you have to wait in a long line to get it.
So you have expectations for the food and experience to be terrible. You agree with OP and don't even realize it.
TD never disappoints.

Don’t worry, we’re gonna spend a shite ton on LEDs while our concessions give everyone dysentery.

I saw some talk on here regarding LSU converting to buffet style concessions at some point. Not sure where we are on that issue
Posted on 11/9/23 at 2:09 pm to fastlane
Do our issues all relate back to the bad food service contracts with Aramark? Or is this just on the athletic department and whether they want to spend money or not?

They were out of hot dogs, pizza and popcorn at the concession stand I went to at halftime.
The water stands were nice

PetCo in San Diego was a game changer for me. I was a Saturday day game vs the Mets idk if it was sold out, but I seemed like it and I did not wait in line for anything. They have beer stations like at a gas station the big tubs grabbed a beer and paid no lines for the bathroom the beer garden was great each brand had their own kiosks .
It was the best fan experience I've ever had.
TS is Aramark and it's trash all around. The concessions make going to the game a pain in the arse

I’ve been to every SEC stadium except Kentucky, and I can tell you that tiger stadium BY FAR has the most inept helpers and deplorable concession stands…and overall options for food
i know its freaking ole miss but i used to enjoy when we played them the saturday before thanskgiving and would take the kids to the game en route to monroe from nashville such good memories. my kids made a sign for trindon and held it up when he returned that kickoff for a TD
Big Ol' Herman
anyway, back to the point of the thread...i just walked into the stadium during a timeout and got some delicious brisket nachos for like $8. easy breezy.
why LSU gotta be a shitshow?

$10.50 for a beer. Is $10.00 just not good enough? Of course, if zero people paid that $10.50 price would damn well drop. Just like any other concession item. Fans have power they never unite and use.

Mizzou was shitty. Long lines and hot beer.

Why would it be an unrealistic expectation that the people operating the concession stands seem like they're at least semi-competent to input information into the computer they have to operate?
Because these posters are the same next yr. U apologists in recruiting that extol mediocrity and embrace the 3 star recruit strategy to compete against Alabama and Georgia.

There are areas of Alex Box that follow the same model. Grab what you want and then proceed to one of the 8 cashiers to pay. It’s actually quite nice.

Alabama needs more Gumps like you....

I can’t imagine any other school could be worse than lsu concessions which is really sad since Louisiana is known for great food.

I had the opposite experience.
Also, bottled Coke and water were cheap. $2.
What I didn't like about Mizzou was the stadium configuration.

WTF is organized tailgating? Everybody rents a space in an acre of tents?
No thanks! I’ll pass!

Your pictures are amazing. A water cooler and the same shite at Tiger Stadium, but with Alabama logos. Last time I was in TS, there was a a water refill fountain, just didn’t look like a football sideline cooler like that one.
