When I go to a football game, I expect to watch a football game. I go to the concession before football games for a drink to mix my whiskey in. That's it. When you spend an entire day eating at a tailgate, I don't get why you also need to stuff your face at a game. Especially when it's overpriced, cold, and not good, and you have to wait in a long line to get it.

IRRC the current concession contracts were signed by Alleva not long before Scott was hired. I think it was said they run through 2025 or 2026…

Ten minute wait or 600 seconds is not for me.
5 could throw two TD passes while you are getting a hot dog.

If I can’t make it during a TV TO then it’s too long.

Well we know the defense could give up two in that time too.

Do you want to park in Denham Springs?

B/c goign to an LSU game only takes 3-4 hours
I guess you have a parking pass right at the stadium and show up right when the game starts, and then you leave at halftime.
If the game starts at 6, you are probably leaving the house at 3ish, and you're not getting home until 11ish. That's not 3-4 hours, that's 8, and for at least 5 of those hours you're only choice to get food or water is in the stadium.

So no, i can't go that long without drinking water when its hot as shite with 85% humidity.

I've been to a few SEC stadiums as well and the concept of free water seems to be just about everywhere but at LSU.
We really do have one of the worst stadium experiences outside of the actual game being played in the SEC.

I was at the Ole Miss / A&M game in Oxford this past Saturday with family. Their concessions are top notch. For instance, they had a beer area (also had peanuts, candy, water) where you walked in and grabbed what you wanted yourself (beer and water out of fridges) then proceeded to one of the 5 quick kiosks to pay. Took 5 minutes at halftime.

I miss probably a touchdown a game waiting in our concessions. *Also the people working the concessions were sooo much better in Oxford.

the line was 100 people deep because it was HT. Didn’t miss a thing. Otherwise you wouldn’t have missed anything because you’d be in and out as quickly as you could walk through the concession. If you have a problem with a 10 minute wait with 100s of people in line in front of you then don’t get concessions in tiger stadium.

You’re missing the entire point of this thread…

I know I’ve waited at least 10 minutes in line before at TS for concessions with only ~10 people in line in front of me. That’s 10x longer wait per person compared to this system other stadiums in the SEC are using. I would never try going to get concessions at HT of an LSU game for that reason. Other schools have figured this out, kind of embarrassing our brass can’t.

looks like Bryant Denny is similar to The Masters. Everything pre-done, lines move super fast. Its a good model to follow.

I don’t think I am. If you wwited in line ten minutes that’s a long time.

I’ve been to Bryant Denny. On our last trip we sat just left of the moon. We didn’t go for concessions because the seats were so jammed up, it was an ordeal just to get in and out of the section.

But again I go to see the game. If I do need to go to the restroom, I go at halftime or st the end of the quarters. I don’t want to spend five minutes getting to the concession line, ten minutes in the concession line and another five minutes getting back to my seat.

But I understand other people need to eat and drink to enjoy the game because I see all the folks in line at the games and I read all the griping here.

There is only one way to make LSU/Aramark improve their concession situation. You have to make them see that they can make more money if they improve; otherwise they aren’t going to do squat. It’s all business.

Stadiums, like movie theaters, are a fun little lesson in basic economics. Outside food and drinks are not allowed. The stadium creates a monopoly for products. This creates artificially low supply. Demand is high. They can charge whatever they want while keeping quality down. When there is an enforced monopoly, the only ways to address it are to stop buying and force a change, or smuggle in "black market" goods.

Last time I went to the concessions in TS they were pretty efficient. Especially the alcohol sales.

I recently read somewhere (can’t find it), that LSU recently bought out the rest of Aramark’s contract and signed with another vendor. Did anyone else hear that?

I get what you’re saying but you’re not getting the point. The people who do want to enjoy a refreshment (and god forbid someone wanting that) the way LSU runs the concessions or whoever decided to run it is completely incompetent.

If you are going to do concessions and charge the prices you do then at least listen to your customers and go back to the fundraising and volunteer way. There are ways to offer everyone what they want without completely messing it up.

Ignoring the glaring issue is not going to help. We always look like idiots in everything we do in this state.

Very few NEED stadium food, but it’s not everyday one can spend $8 on .25 delicious jalapeño nachos that seemingly never have enough liquid cheese

Wait, so you only do the things you NEED. shite, I thought this was America, and we could do the things we WANTED.

Why does every venue in America, from youth soccer fields to NFL stadiums offer some form of concession? And why do 99% of those exceed the services offered by LSU in Tiger Stadium?
