Houston has a solid concentration of those. Very solid.

After living in Shreveport and moving to Baton Rouge, then, Houston, and back to Baton Rouge… I strongly disagree. Baton Rouge is much cleaner than both.
I’m not referring to the air either.

I just thought the same. I’ve lived there. This is not wrong. Just makes me giggle a bit inside.
Serious question…
When we hit a home run and watch it until it is over the fence, flip our bat, and cross home plate with everyone out of the dugout to just all cross our arms and yell like banshees, do you not see that as the same thing? If you are not capable of seeing that, you’re simply choosing not to.
It’s like being the kid that is constantly instigating then one day someone punches them in the mouth and they go tattle to the principal.

Most umpires do not like being shown up. Thats the difference. The catcher wasn’t showing the umpire up. He was celebrating a play. If he’s not swearing excessively or crossing the line towards the other team, he’s not going to say anything. They never do. It’s the game of baseball.
Again, lots of softies on here that do not understand the game.
I’m not a Tony V, nor UTenn fan. Could not stand watching them the last several years. This was a good baseball game. They were rather tame, honestly. Everyone still living on years past. They outplayed us this time. Get over it guys. We had a great run in the tournament and have lots of baseball left to play. Hopefully we get another shot at them on the way through.

You watch much MLB?
Yes. The game polices itself, but doesn’t stop people from having swag. Watch when they hit one 450’ on a hanging slider and then think about what you just said. Pitchers know when they make a mistake. Hitters know when they capitalized. If the next guy earns one in the back, he gets it, but hey buddy look at the scoreboard. Now we are swimming in your dome like the UT catcher is everyone on this board.
Well said w the last piece. Let guys start wearing it when Bear Jone pimps one like he did when he hit it 3 miles. We love that but crap on anything else.

They’ve been the #1 team in the country probably more and longer than any other team over the last 3-4 years. They haven’t won a championship yet, but that doesn’t mean they won’t. A #1 ranking at any level is hard to obtain. Baseball is a game of swagger. In years past, they have taken it across the line. I don’t think this year was one of those teams though. Gilbert was the face of the team for a few years and a total tool. He gave them worse of a name than Tony V. To play baseball consistently and at a high level, you have to be a little bit crazy, and arrogant. You walk on the field knowing you’re going to fail more than succeed. Think about anything else you do in life. Tell me you’d keep doing it every day knowing the same. Then, revisit your statement.
Again, clearly not many people on this board who understand baseball as a game.
People on here used to love when Skenes fanned somebody and threw a finger up like, “Get the $@&! outta here!” but crap on anybody else with any swag.
USe doing what they did last night was Busch League crap. The play at home was a joke. Throwing at Braswell’s head in the prior inning when he squared to bunt (that nobody mentioned because nobody gets it) was Busch. They are much more of a joke than UT rt now. UT has earned the right to have some swagger. Give credit where it is due. Years past, I would agree. Not this year though.

Could not agree more. Told a friend they’ve replaced Tennessee as most unlikable for me.

I thought they were relatively calm compared to years past. Vitello was also rather measured comparatively. I think he’s possibly maturing. We shall see. He’s had some complete tools for players historically and I’m not sure which takes the identity of the other.
I don’t have a problem with what the catcher did, as a former player. Great call. Ridiculous lead, unnecessarily by Milam, with a guy in front of him. I understand it w the 1B playing so far off. Catcher called a backside slider to allow 1B to get to bag on a sprint and took the chance the hitter would not swing. 1B was there. Pitcher missed out over the plate, and he still threw him out. Big momentum swing. Big play. Big nuts. I don’t understand you guys who love when we hit a bomb and celebrate but crap on everyone else who makes a great baseball play and celebrates it the same.
Pretty clear how many people on here truly understand the game.

IF you can hold up your end of the bargain.
IF you can hold up your end of the bargain.
I think these items are very subjective. I’ve lived outside Louisiana (Houston, TX) and made my way back. Have a great job here. Had a great job there. Actually, made more money coming back in my particular situation. I would have had to go the private school route in my situation for either location. My personal situation, I came back because I wanted to be closer to family and I missed the culture. Both things that cannot be ranked on that scale. I did not believe the healthcare in Houston was exponentially better. I thought it was fluffed a lot more, creating an image of better care, but I do not believe people are any better cared for there than the places I have been in Louisiana. I believe our government situation has stifled a lot of job opportunity, which is our biggest downfall. If we could improve our economics, I think we keep a lot of people home and dramatically improve our “quality” of life here. Everything in our country now seems to be predicated on external appearances and what the books tell you is good and right. While I agree, some of the statistics are abysmal, I believe these polls show a very narrow view of the things that make Louisiana what it is and why people do remain content here.

AND… Most of these rates have not been renegotiated and/or have only been cut since TEFRA

…and to get them to pay after billing them over and over may be as simple as submitting the CPT codes in a different sequential order. It all seems very arbitrary.

The issue goes all the way to the suppliers in the US. The US healthcare organizations are being charged nearly double in some instances to use the same products and drugs that are being used in markets overseas. However, because there is not heavily subsidized care here and commercial insurances will may out “a premium,” we foot a lot of the bill here. What is subsidized here continues to be expanded and we just “print” money to fund it.
Want a recent example of the silliness, just go look at the amount various countries were charged to get the COVID vaccines when those rolled out. I’m sure this will go down the vaccine hole now, but the point is, the supply chain determines a lot of the cost. If US providers are being charged twice what international providers are, the costs are going to be much higher in the US. It’s basic economics.
Beyond that, you have inflationary pressure on everything. That includes highly trained provider salaries that rise just like everyone else during these times. Not to the same % level, but they do rise. Those people have to be compensated. These are also consequences of paying someone $15-$20/hr to make cheeseburgers.
It’s the entire economic system, not just the healthcare. The forces outside the market impact healthcare just like any other industry.

For 51 minutes of anesthesia, at that billing rate (which tells me what kind of insurance we are looking at) the anesthesia group probably collected about $500 for your case because each case has a set of base units
At the cost of paying an anesthesiologist and a nurse anesthetist to do the procedure, you’re looking at a gross revenue for anesthesia services for your procedure that the anesthesia company made at or around $0 net revenue.
Now, if we are talking South Carolina and the anesthesia care model was a certain type, the anesthesia company collected at least 35% less than that.

It’s an hour from downtown Houston. It’s actually between Cypress and Spring far northwest of Houston proper outside of the Sam Houston Tollway. Lots of big houses that far out around that price. Probably right. Comparable to living in Zachary to Baton Rouge, except a lot more traffic.

Get him a wood bat for practice and cage work. Let him use the other in the games.
Couldn’t agree more. I collect income from multiple states, have W2 and independent contractor incomes, and itemize deductions.

Everybody relax. He started slow last year as well and look at the product we got in Omaha. If he’s still leaving balls up in April, maybe there is some cause for concern but it’s a long season.
