Sounds like he's getting a divorce, not leaving his kids.

Welp, the reality is, he left them. One day it will sink in, too. Or maybe not... Quote a single sentence by the OP in any of his posts mentioning "daddy" worried about the kids. Oh, he knows all about their sex life but not a peep about how "daddy" feels about getting every other weekend now.

Really?

Men getting fat after marriage seems to be accepted and expected.

Wives too, this thread notwithstanding, but I would think most people would say it's nuts for a woman to leave a man because he put on weight.

I think anywhere from 10-40 pounds is expected, but 100 plus is dangerous territory.

You know what's also pathetic and unbelievable? Abandoning your children for the sole purpose of having freedom and chasing women.

He wanted the kids.
Courts always award the kids to the mother unless she is a drug addict or some other form of monster.

To abandon your family because your wife got fat?

You think this is a win here?

She's too friendly with BBQ, not BBC.

She'll get old too. Get grey hair and wrinkles.

Beauty fades, a surety. If she loved him and was true to him and helped take care of their kids and their house, for shame.

Admit it, he was cheating with some toothpick floozie on the side.

For someone to just up and put on 100lbs they have to hate their life. But I can imagine that happening being married to the douche the Op is describing

A douche that doesn't realize yelling "lose weight" at your wife for a decade isn't going to fix the problem, just makes it worse.

To me it's the same as a woman who stops having sex with their husband after marriage. Every guy has something that's important to him. If he's a guy that wants his wife to look good (probably a vain person, but whatever) then that may be his line. Women have them too and when a guy crosses them he usually finds out way too late because most women are way too indirect when resolving relationship issues.

And it's a good comparison that if the guy stopped working as hard to provide, do you think she would put up with that?

A man's nature is to want to provide. Most women want to look good. A man with no money reflects poorly on thr family, as does a frumpy wife that wants to consume more calories than a small African country.

I'm sure this Eric Decker doppelganger "daddy" and the OP are hydrating up to slay OT 9.3s on the regular. No time for steadies.

Exactly. So they will either learn that their father’s love & respect is conditional on their appearance or they will learn that the only people who have a certain appearance are valuable and worthy of their love and respect.

Maybe, but if father wasn’t an athlete/a certain height/had the wrong tattoo, would the momma even have took a chance on him when they met? That works both ways

Idk we’ve both put in some weight, both 57. I know it sounds sappy but I love her as much today as 25 years ago. Your friend is going to find out how hard it is to find a good woman

Should have just told her "drop some weight or I'm getting a side piece". She got complacent and figured that she had him by the balls due to the kids.

Yep. By doing this he probably added 15-20 years to her lifespan. He should be hailed as a hero, not shite on.

When my Ellen go way overweight, I gave her three years to slim down. She failed miserably, so we went straight to the adoption agency and dropped her off. They say older kids are hard to place, and being fat likely won’t help, but I couldn’t come home and see that anymore.
