Your friend is a real piece of garbage.

“Daddy, why did you leave us?”

“Cuz mommy’s fat.”

“Can we live with you daddy?”

“No. I’m going to be chasing skinny bitches and having a bunch of kids hanging around is not going to be conducive to that.”

Sounds like she's seriously depressed or has a medical issue.

He made a choice to jettison her, so she'll get healthy and enjoy her probably sizable payout.

She sounds like she dodged a bullet by losing him. Imagine being sick and having your spouse do this.

For better or worse aren't just words.

This is a bit simplistic to the situation however. It’s like saying don’t be mad at her because the boat she took out sank….but leaving off the part where she knew there was a hole in it before she took it out.

And yet she chose to not give a shite about her husband's concern for her health or respect him enough to give a shite about her weight.

If roles were reversed and he refused to care about his health/weight, she would be praised for leaving him. No one would give a shite about the husband.

If your spouse has a concern about your physical appearance because you've nearly doubled your weight, and you ignore it, you obviously didn't take YOUR vows seriously either.

Bookmarking this thread. The next time I read some story about a parent leaving their kids for another superficial reason and the OT rips them a new arse - which is a lot - the quotes from some here aren't going to be pretty. 97% certain this is all a horseshite story but reading most of the replies she/they deserve it is pretty sad.

I have a lot of mixed feelings. While you aren't wrong, serious mental disorders are a tough, though thing to do. I dealt with a parent that had some severe issues that refused to deal with them for half a decade plus, and it left some serious shite with my sister and I.

Ultimately he shouldn't be that shallow, but I can see where he doesn't want his children to think being morbidly obese is an acceptable way to go through life.

Because none of this happened and he made up the story.

Not saying she deserved it.

Just pointing out that nearly every person lambasting him would likely hold the exact opposite view if she left him for gaining weight.

He would be the POS slob in that situation, and rightfully so.

And you know that is true.

This is an incredibly screwed up thing to say to your wife, your friend sounds like a piece of shite and deserves everything coming his way.

Really?

Men getting fat after marriage seems to be accepted and expected.

Wives too, this thread notwithstanding, but I would think most people would say it's nuts for a woman to leave a man because he put on weight.

But what about his kids? That'd be the worst part of this. Is he even going to get to see them?

Based on what you said I'm certain she'll go to great lengths to make sure he doesn't. That better be some damn good peanut butter.
