Go look at some of the places you can get for 10-20 million in Manhattan on Zillow. You will be greatly surprised, and you can get some AMAZING places for less than 19.5, I assure you.
There's now an overabundance of luxury places there and a flat market so lots available.

The furniture looks like it is from Target. There is nothing classic or warm about that place, and the computer driving range video game screams nouveau riche. The only feature that is nice is the reading room, which has nice bookshelves. The fixtures, windows, moulding and cornices, just about everything in there was a poor design choice.

I agree with your assessment of the design. It's soulless. But I am a sucker for a golf simulator. If that's tacky, I'm ok with that.
