It's amazing how fast that water hyacinth can grow when left unchecked.

Can't have an algae problem if you let the water hyacinth out compete it.

Asshat, I'm asking specifically about the LSU sorority row portion since that's where the most food and auto traffic will be coming down.

I assume you’re an adult with reasoning skills. Use your eyes and your brain. Do you think they’ll be done? They literally just started. It was a stupid question.

The lake on Dalrymple looks like a planted field.

Everyone driving through our lovely city on the interstate must be impressed.

Apparently, LSU is blocking them from dredging it out as deep as they initially said they would.

And let the games begin. JFC, they half-assed it the last time they dredged them and we were back to square one in less than 20 years.

Those lakes weren't "that bad" back in the late 90's. I guess they haven't done anything since then to keep them in decent condition.

They just started a year long project.

The Project Team estimated Phase 1 dredging completion by July 2024. So go ahead and assume that’s Oct 2024 at the very earliest with a 1Q25 as a much more practical estimate. That will probably include a 40% budget overrun for Phase 1 as well.

the whole project will probably take 7 years, run out of funding 3 different times, and create a dozen lawsuits.

Most of us will have either left BR or stick around to see it turn into Jackson MS by then.

This makes no sense. Why would LSU care? What source are you referencing?

I wonder what they’re doing with the dalrymple area next to I10. Seems like they clear a good bit of dirt and there’s a crane sitting there 24/7.

They are starting to prep for I-10 work.
