You have CSRS (a civil engineering firm) who subbed out design to Stantec (another civil engineering firm) who subbed out dredging to Neel Schafer (another civil engineering firm). I’m sure when the contractor has a question that the meetings cost a few thousand a pop just for people’s time with that kind of circle jerk, much less a plans or specifications revision.

The whole “let’s have a phase one to figure out how to dredge” (where they built the island) has always been laughable to me since none of those 3 firms have experience of significance in that realm in Louisiana. The rest of the engineering community could have told you a few years ago and untold millions ago to round up a fleet of marsh buggy’s and have at it.

Completely agree it will end up years behind and millions over given the sample of work to date.

It’s Louisiana - nothing has EVER been finished on time.

I’m curious if they’ll make any attempt to sift the mud for guns. I saw the police dive team out there near the interstate section diving for guns about 8 years ago.

You gotta figure many guns have been tossed in there.
