Things are awful sketchy in Delaware, as the Hunter Biden case is about to enter court for Judge Maryellen Noreika to review sweetheart plea deal between corrupt DOJ officials and Hunter Biden lawyers.

As the situation unfolded, Congress filed an amicus brief opposing the plea deal and outlining new evidence discovered by the House Oversight Committee so the judge would have additional background on the deal. The amicus filing was done by GOP lawyer Mr. Theodore Kittila, from the committee.

Someone from the defense team, a lawyer later identified as Jessica Bengels from the law firm of Latham and Watkins, then contacted the clerk of the court -falsely claimed to be working with Theodore Kittila- and asked the clerk to remove the amicus filing. The clerk removed the filing.

GOP lawyer Kittila found out and contacted the clerk to understand what was going on. Mr. Kittila then confronted the lawyers for Hunter Biden, and Judge Noreika is a little angry about the Biden team manipulation. COURT ORDER

Cruz is all over this on his podcast this AM. He has been laying it all out these past few episodes.

Recommended listening whether you like Cruz or not.

Verdict with Ted Cruz

I mentioned in the other thread that this is a big moment for the federal judiciary. They can try to restore some trust that they are objective and care about the law or they can confirm that they cower to government, help the rich & powerful, won't punish misconduct, endorse a two tiered system of justice and so forth.

It's disgusting this shows the case is already treated as yesterday's news by the MSM.
Secondly, it shows the Dems will openly lie, cheat and steal to tilt the system in their favor and not receive any MSM coverage or any backlash. As we've seen, the hand wringing by GOP reps on Fox doesn't go anywhere.

The Biden team's response is that this was "an unfortunate miscommunication" with no nefarious intent.

I'm shocked!

Not really.

Lying/cheating is their only way to win anything.

The explanation of "there was a miscommunication" is weak and while most Americans disapprove of the deal, this attempt will be viewed as Hunter's legal team attempting to remove damaging evidence. The more the Biden's attempt to run from the corruption, the more their guilt is displayed in the court of public opinion.

quote:

The majority of voters (55 percent) disapprove of Hunter's plea deal, with 41 percent “strongly” disapproving, while 37 percent approve. Asked if there is a “two-tier” justice system in America, 57 percent of voters agree and 35 percent disagree.

Bitching on a podcast is all they ever do.. When some Democrat finally goes to jail, or hangs from the neck till dead, I will finally believe these guys are not all on the same team. Hell, for all we know Cruz may be in bed with Newsome and want Biden gone to clear a path. I don't trust any of them anymore. NONE OF THEM.

It would appear that a staff member with Latham (Hunter Biden‘s counsel) communicated with the court regarding an amicus brief filed by counsel for congressional Republicans (GOP Counsel). Apparently, that brief included exhibits which should not have been filed in the public record (due to the inclusion of personal information) pursuant to a local rule of that Delaware court, and the Latham staffer asked court personnel what steps were necessary under local rules to have the pleading removed. it would appear that the clerk’s office pulled the pleading from the file, pending a resolution.

The claim is that this Latham staff member represented herself to be affiliated with GOP Counsel. if true, that would obviously be problematic. But that seems unlikely … given that she provided the court with her name and her Latham phone number. if she was trying to be sneaky, she did a poor job of it.

Judge will probably just give her a $350 fine and a strongly worded letter.

The judge will then accept the plea deal on Friday afternoon then they will all meet at the country club for cocktail hour.

Well that’s not even completely what they are saying. They are saying they called from their firms number, which typically shows up on caller ID.

So what we are left with is “I didn’t say I was with the other firm, I said I was with my firm, not sure how there was a misunderstanding.”

Sounds like bullshite.

Interesting that they submitted Ms Bengel’s explanation as a Declaration rather than a sworn Affidavit. Her explanation makes sense and sounds like an everyday staff call/inquiry to the clerk’s office, which do sometimes delve into the land of confusion. However, I’d really like to hear the clerk’s side of the story as well for comparison because it sounds like the clerk has a much different version.

It will likely be chalked up as a she said/she said scenario that was a misunderstanding, the judge will do nothing [or give the court’s oral version of a strongly worded letter of reprimand] and will then proceed to dole out a gentle slap on the wrist to Hunter.
