Bingo.

I’d start by getting blood work done. If all clear, ask someone for assistance with writing a meal plan and start a fitness routine.

You need to check with your doctor about getting you that new drug NUCALA. My wife (No pics) always struggled with everything you said, minus the blood pressure. She actually has Sarcoidosis. Which is something in her wind pipe. It would flare up at least once a month and was so bad they would put her on steroids. Her doctor kept telling her that that drug NUCALA would be a game changer. She has been on it for about four months and has not had one flare up since. The doctor was right. It was definitely a game changer. It’s hard to get approved for it. The company that owns it has a process that they follow when someone gets recommended for it. It is expensive as shite and some insurers won’t even pay for it. What ever you do don’t give up. Talk to your doctor about other options for you as far as anything new that you haven’t tried yet. Good luck

Honestly no. I always try and look what I have going for me but always seem to fall back to feeling down about where i currently am in life.

The Studio I went to it varied. You had some older women, some women who were crazy out of shape trying to get in shape (to their credit, at least they are trying unlike a lot of men and women now) and then definitely some of the hot women in yoga pants in their 20s/early 30s.

From one broken man to another. My heart breaks for you. My situation is completely different, new, and entirely self inflicted but i am with you in thinking all of things you are thinking about the prospects of a happy life being a thing of the past. From an earthly perspective i would encourage you to continue to seek different medical counsel until you find one that you feel cares. The only other thing you can do is hit your knees. It sounds cliche but when nothing on earth is working what other option do we have? If you want my contact info let me know. Im not good at deep advice but sometimes having someone to listen is helpful, even if it's just a way to pass a few minutes in a day where you don't know how you are going to make it through. God and i will be spending a lot of time together in the coming days, weeks, and months. I will use some of that time to pray for you. Best of luck brother

Bottom line is you need to not think a pill will solve your problem. Exercise and diet are your first big steps to changing your life. My father died living thinking a pill would take care of everything.

I'm single with no wife or kids to be responsible for. I used to think that's what I wanted but honestly it can get pretty lonely at times. I'm still willing to date though dating feels pretty hopeless and just too much work at my age. Plus who is going to want to marry a guy who has medical problems like me? The point is no one really relies on me financially so it won't be that difficult for them.

Stop the woe is me shite. Work on your medical problems. You've admitted that is an issue. This isn't going to change over night.

It's a good job but it's not work I would say I'm crazy passionate about. It's definitely not a calling.

Get what you need. I was bred into restaurants and that is what I do. It isn't fancy. I run a Hooters for christ's sake. No one is going to give me accolades for that. On the other hand, I make 6 figures a year, work under 45 hours a week, make my own schedule, and excel at what I do. Quality of life isn't bad.

If you met me you would see I am nothing great to look at and my significant other is extremely out of my league and makes her own money. It can happen for you but you've got change your view on life. You've only got so many years in this crazy arse universe. We do not know what happens after we die. Are you going to sulk or get at it?

He doesn't want to lose autonomy. And there is a difference between Cubans, Colombians, Mexicans, etc., and OP is too white to know the difference, or get involved in that discussion.

Really don't know what kind of responses I'm looking for here but I figured I would get some feedback from you all since part of me really feels like just giving up at this point.

To give you some background on me, I just turned 36. Slightly overweight but not obese (5'7" - 180 lbs) but I know I don't eat that great. I'm trying to change that (trying to cut out most sugars, processed foods, more salads, vegestables, organic foods, etc.) and would like to drop 30 - 40 lbs. I am also trying to work out more and just joined Orange Theory a few months ago, trying to do 8 classes a month.

The medical issues that I suffer from are multiple. Here's the list:

Eosinophillic Asthma (I take Montelukast 10mg, Dymista, Breo Ellipt and Incruse Ellipta, going to try Nucala and I'm hoping if that works I can go off the inhaled corticosteroids).

GERD (Mostly diet related and it's pretty minor but I do take Nexium 20mg, gastro doctor wants me to try Pepcid 40mg but I'm hesitant to do it).

High Blood Pressure (I take Lisinopril 20mg. Completely hereditary, diagnosed at 23, my sister was diagnosed at 18, every member of my family has it).

Besides those I take a multivitamin, fiber supplement, loratadine 10mg and a nasal rinse every day.

For me it s*cks having so many medical issues at such a young age. I was hospitalized for 3 days last year due to pneumonia and now this year have missed a week of work because I got a viral/bacterial infection that caused me to get fungal laryngitis and has temporarily screwed up my voice.

It's frustrating, I feel like I have genuinely tried to work out more and eat better and it hasn't really helped. It's frustrating feeling like I'm a 36 year old trapped in a 66 year olds body. It's too bad there aren't lemon laws on the books for bodies because my body definitely feels like a lemon.

Again I don't really know what I'm expecting here, I guess any tips will be helpful. I just needed to get this off my chest. Not sure if there's much hope for me at this point. I don't want to give it but it's hard not to.

I want you to know you’re not alone in your struggles. I’m not dealing with the same situation you are, but I do deal with some of the same feelings that you feel. I have severe anxiety. I mean, crippling anxiety at times. The kind that can cause me to have an absolute meltdown if something gets me anxious enough. My anxiety has controlled my life since I was a kid. It made me introverted because I wanted to avoid things that would make me anxious and wanted to hide my anxiety from others.

Now, I look at my life many days with contempt for myself. I have no close friends. I can’t tell you the last time someone who isn’t a family member asked me to hang out with them. I hate myself some days for allowing my life to be this way.

That said, I try to remain thankful for the things that I do have. Life can be worse. It’s a struggle some days to just get out of bed, but I try to just put one foot in front of the other and get through it. I guess this isn’t really advice, more of just me telling you that you’re not alone in how you feel. Many of us are struggling, even many of those who outwardly look to have everything going their way.

I’m saying a prayer for you and I hope you find brighter days ahead.

wish I knew. Probably terrible genetics. My family isn't the postcard for health. Probably from chronic asthma/allergies/post nasal drip I'm guess. I'm always having to clear my throat and I always sound like I'm half dead. I try to hide it but it can be hard at times. Everyone else around me gets to be normal while I'm always a few seconds away from another cough and/or clearing my throat. Heck I just did it in between posts now.

I haven't read the thread beyond this post, but I had a chronic cough most of my life and it was from GERD and take an over the counter PPI now and it knocked out the cough. Could be a simple issue like reflux. I forget to take the medicine and the cough comes back

Long time lurker, but I registered to reply.

Don't give up! If you have nothing to live for, live for others. You talk about being lonely, there are many kids who feel the same. Mentor them. Guide them. Help them find their way.

If you feel that path isn't for you, just live and give. Live through Him and doors will open.
