It's hard to overstate just how good Reed was.

His solo work is great for showing his versatility.

He's the most talented musician in his last 3 bands

And a hell of a nice guy. When I was a lot younger, he was the only one in Marilyn Manson to offer any genuine pleasantries or kindness. May have been for the fact he was the only full-time-sober one, but still..even to be sober in that situation says something.

“Amos Moses”

I’ll add my choice to this thread, which is entirely appropriate to the OP since he hasn’t been mentioned yet:

James Honeymam-Scott (Pretenders) - “Kid”

the 15 second break halfway through this song is absolute guitar perfection

John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin is another example, though not a "guitarist", he was probably the most overlooked musician in all of rock history.

How are we on page 4 and no mention of Randy Rhoads or Richie Blackmore yet?

How are you this far in life and don't realize Blackmore and Rhoads are universally seen as great guitarists?

Same thing with the guy who mentioned John Petrucci…he is widely recognized as one of the best guitar players in the world.
