Fixed wing, F4G only outranked by the A-10. I take that back. A C-130 could be on fire and upside down and I'd go back to sleep. It's the Toyota of planes. Clearly I have an air to ground bias.

The XB-70 was just a nutso concept. Yet, the B-52 has been in the air for longer than most of us have been alive.

A1 Skyraider saved a lot of asses in Vietnam.

SR-71 taking off from Kadena air base in Okinawa Japan. Burned all its fuel up just getting into the air, then refueled, and went sonic to spy on the Russians!

Nothing like that to behold before or after.

Got to be one of the most iconic military planes ever.

They had those in Manila too (at least traveling through). Witnessed a rocket assisted takeoff from Manila of a C-130 (not sure why they needed the rockets) as a kid, and you never, ever forget that kind of magic. It was our third day waiting for the C-5 to get fixed to fly back Space-A to Japan.

Ramjets are special.

Lancaster bomber because my father-in-law was a navigator whose plane was twice shot up over Europe, but made it back to the UK.

F14 and F15 will always be my favorites. More partial to the cat because it's a naval bird.

Depends on the “why”.

I’m knee deep in the ground on the dragons lair and need help from above fast and accurate?

A-10

I’m in it but not that deep and I can call in several drops none of which are danger close?

The BUFF

I just need some haji’s ears split?

F-16 or 15 on a low pass.

Need a thundering show of force?

B-2

Need a good ride home?

C-5 or maybe a 17. The 17 is to new for me to have experience with.
