I’ve been once, I couldn’t understand how people justify going when all their crap is old asf and not exciting.

Why do you care how other people choose to spend their vacations?

To each their own. What do you spend money on? I’m fairly sure there are people that can’t comprehend why you spend money on whatever that may be….
Not sure why this type of thing is any of your concern.
I don’t hunt. Wasn’t raised around it and I have absolutely ZERO interest in it. For the life of me, I can’t comprehend why people go out in the marsh in the middle of winter, the wind blowing 30MPH with a 25° wind chill to sit in a wet, muddy blind to shoot some birds. Just not my thing. But it doesn’t bother me that pretty much 80% of Louisiana goes duck hunting.

then stop trying, and let them live their life... who cares if you don't understand?

I go to the local pub regularly. I enjoy doing that. They enjoy going to disney. Who gives a shite what others enjoy doing if it's not causing harm to anyone. Looks like you are the one with the problem.

We all blow our money on stupid shite that makes us happy.
I would personally love to be able to afford a vacation 4 times a year

Is this some kind of mental disorder needing to be diagnosed?
What's the mental disorder for someone who can't stop obsessing over what other people like to do for fun?

why are you concerned about how others spend their money?

A couple co-workers used to go every year just to drink and bar hop, no kids. Made no damn sense at all!
Posted on 5/10/23 at 2:21 pm to Tommy Noble
My sister and brother in-law do this. They loved to go before they had kids and now with a few young kids it’s put it into overdrive. Not something I’d want to do (even with young kids) but they have plenty of money and still travel to other places.
They’re both perfectly normally, well adjusted people who just love going to the parks.

What do you do for entertainment? Is the Disney-loving coworker borrowing money from you to go?
If not, what difference does it make to you how many times a year he goes?
I worked with many serious deer hunters and bass fisherman who lived and breathed their chosen hobby most of their time off from work, but it isn't our place to judge whether their hobby is foolish or doesn't seem right to you.
Bottom line, stay in your lane....you do you and let the guy enjoy his life in any way he sees fit.

It is a bit strange, but not as strange as starting threads whining about how others spend their money.

I don't give much thought to how other adults spend their money. If it makes them happy, that's great. They aren't hurting anyone, and as more people go to Disney that means fewer people go to the places I like. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would be astonished at how much some people spend on fishing or hunting or golf gear. Or how much I spend at restaurants.

Everyone has their own version of fun.
Some people its a comfort factor. Some people its all they ever know. Some people just actually really enjoy it.
Some people love backpacking. Others find it repulsive to think about doing.
Some people love traveling to big cities. Other wants ZERO part of that.
Some people love beaches. Others find beaches boring.
Some people like Disney. People always love to shite on disney likers.
To each their own

It's not my cup of tea, but how is it any different than adults shelling out hundreds to thousands of dollars for 8 saturdays to watch 18 to 21 year olds fight each other in a crowded stadium?
ETA: And don't get me wrong, I love going to football games and really any sporting event in person, but I can also see how silly it can be perceived.

Must have something wrong with them, right?
I'm sure there are plenty of ways to skin that cat. If someone looked at all of the things we all did every year, I'm sure they'd see something they'd call wrong like you have.
Sure, Disney is a terrible company with regards to their politics and agendas, but some people don't live every day of their lives by politics and just want to enjoy going to an amusement park. It's no surprise that it's a fun experience because they have 18 fajillion people going to those parks every day.
I think you could make the case that if they are spending more money than they should be affording then they have a problem. I don't concur that it's a weird thing to WANT to go enjoy 4 times a year.

I go to six flags Atlanta at least 10 times / year.. guess I am a moron in your elite eyes.
I guess people who go watch their favorite football team 4 times/year are mental
