Must have something wrong with them, right? I have a coworker who does this (married middle aged female, no kids.)

I just can’t comprehend how someone is willing to spend that much money on an overpriced, overcrowded theme park meant for children. Add in all their woke nonsense too. Is this some kind of mental disorder needing to be diagnosed?

It sounds like hell to me, but whatever. You're free to do with your money what you want to do.

They are afraid of the real world, of real places. Best to enjoy a sugary imitation where everything is clean and happy and predictable.

Yes. Adults who are Disney obsessed have some mental issues.

People who never grew up emotionally. Which seems to be the majority of American society now. Once again, as a GenXer I place the blame squarely on Boomers and their offspring, Millennials.

I thought about this when I went to a Rockets game last year. Just substitute theme park with game.

Absolutely. And they're usually fat.

The way I see it, the more people that crowd into Disney is less crowds where I actually want to go.

We have this guy at work who's like 80 years old and goes at least 4 times a year. He'll of course take his kids and grandkids though.

I don't understand it because Disney World is the shittiest place on earth, but that's what he likes and if he likes it, then power to him.

I think it's weird. But on its face, it's probably harmless.

I think you can read into it, especially for people who go without families. There are probably some takeaways there about how adults in our society are not being fulfilled and are chasing cheap imitations of real things. But that won't be universal, some people would just rather master Disney than anywhere else. So long as they're honest with themselves about why and the limits of what they can get out of it, no harm.

What do adults do at Disney for a week? Say no kids on the trip, and take out the dress up like Mickey Mouse and Sinderella role play hotel room time.

I went to Disney World once about 12 years ago. I really enjoyed my time checking out epcot and riding some rides throughout the other parks. I won't go back because of the woke stuff but it was fun when I went awhile back.
