The irony of you attacking DeSantis for being conservative and promoting big government Trump and trying to convince yourself that massive government spending is gonna make America great.

Trump's acolytes will die with Trump. Like the left, they will do whatever Trump tells them to do. The ability for independent thought, anymore, has gone away a long time ago.

When was the last time you created a thread that wasn't attacking DeSantis, or as you put it, "i'm just posting information" that, ironically, only attacks DeSantis.

You are a Trump fanatic. You know you are a Trump fanatic. Just stop pretending.

My OP was quoting Don in EVERYTHING. I made no attacks or assertions. All quotes.

When I make assertions or attacks against DeSantis then feel free to debunk them.

Fair enough.

Do you agree with Trump's position here?

I'm a Trump fan but not a fan with excessive enthusiasm. If I wear a MAGA hat it's has more to do with annoying people. People with TDS are fun to tease.

Wrong. Does Desantis want to play outside of Florida or not?

Democrats have used this issue to gut Republicans for many cycles.

We can have all the conversations we want about entitlement reform and what's right and wrong but what is clear is the issue is a loser for Republicans.

No one is touching Soc Security and Medicare. It's like death and taxes.

One of Desanctus' claims is that he can win but Democrats will kill him on cutting medicare and social security.

Trump understands all of this.

I've expressed my positions on SS and Medicare already. I'm an anarchists on the issue. My hope is it collapses. But we know that won't happen because the Federal Reserve will always bail the federal government out. The FR keeps the Ponzi-like scheme going. The costs of a bailout is inflation and people seem to be okay with inflation. Sure they bitch and moan but they keep supporting the FR system that causes it.

Politicians like Trump know that more people support doing nothing to SS and Medicare than people cutting it. It's purely a political position.

Are you not aware of the fact that a lot of retirees live in Florida?

Cutting is not necessary.

And I 100% will say that DeSantis will not run on cutting it and will avoid it.

We’ve all paid into Medicare and Social Security.

The government fricked it up by making promises it failed to keep. I will be furious if I retire and these benefits are not included. People plan their retirement based upon these benefits, that again, they have paid into with every paycheck they ever earned.

These programs are not “big government” entitlement programs that you get bc you are breathing. The problem is that they (particularly social security) were bankrupted by an unholy combination of shitty planning (what to do when you have more retirees than workforce) and, worse still - by Democrats borrowing against it to provide benefits to ppl for just breathing.

I do recall some of the reforms Paul Ryan suggested - but they never quite seemed to address how they would make the existing benefits stable while those paying on were ultimately staved off.

If Desantis voted for this without making such a case for what do you do with the ppl who have paid in; well - it’s a fair criticism and doesn’t necessarily mean that Trump is somehow not conservative.

Wrong. You can be conservative as frick, but you start fricking with SS and you might as well turn over the US Government to Democratic rule forever.

Imagine finally making one of their lies become a truth.

You don't mess with SS, especially in an election year.

And you're good with your guy cynically campaigning against a guy that, if you believe DT's post, might do some good on weighty fiscal matter?

No Republican will run on cutting it

Serious changes have to be made to save it
