this does not say:

Why are you trying to make an argument over something that's not being argued?

No, I m supporting keeping promises and not allowing the federal gov to steal money from it's people.

That's not big gov. That's the opposite.

When life expectancy is 130, will you still be arguing that the program established when life expectancy was half that is going back on its promise if the age of retirement is raised?

Trump wants to expand social security removing the income cap. That's expanding a program meaning more government. Not less.

This is true.

It's just arguing about budget items.

"No don't cut here, cut there. Don't cut my bridge to nowhere, cut SS. We need to send Zelensky more money. No, we need it for Medicare recipients. What about Climate Change? It's an existential threat to SS and Medicare. We need more money for Climate Change."

It's so difficult arguing about SS and Medicare when we are under the Federal Reserve system that bails out all fiscal shortfalls.

Your argument would make total sense pre December 23, 1913. Now it doesn't really matter.

What a bs excuse to justify more government spending and swampiness.

Wait.

You and jjdoc are typing out all sorts of shite about how you don't want any changes to social security,

You are not being truthful. Your own post in response to me shows that you acknowledged that.

quote:

that it would be unfair for you to have to wait a year to start claiming benefits, and then out of the other side of your mouth you're arguing that you want the whole program to be canceled?

What?

What's hard to understand about that? People have varying opinions.

I get 100% what your argument is. You want to raise it and therefore continuing it to buy time for future gens to fix it. Your words.

Gumbo approaches it differently than you. He's just saying what you are wanting extends it.

I have my opinion and it does not include keeping it.

You simply want to argue because of Trump's stance of saying you are not going to raise the limits to those people promised at "this age" and believe the only way to tackle this is to extend it. You see no other options.

By law, the government has taken money out of every paycheck I own and every dime I’ve earned as a business owner.

That money belongs to me. The government is obligated to use it for my health insurance when I’m old and for a benefit when I turn 65.

When you make a contract with another person, that’s called a promise. When the government passes a law, that’s called a promise.

I fulfilled my end of the bargain. The government spent my money on foreign wars, illegal aliens having babies and gender affirming care in Pakistan.

They can not understand why you are not willing to sacrifice to the Big Gov god, your money!

That's a fallacy. I know you get that, the question does not remotely pertain to the content responded to.

No, I can't. Which is why I refuse to allow them to steal the money collected for this purpose.

Thank you for understanding.

I see other options, but my view is big gov't types like you, Gumbo and Trump will stand in the way of pretty much everything.

I'm good with a 20% cut of every single f'n federal budget - social security/medicare included, and then another 20% five years later if we're still adding to our debt. Are you?

Would you trade bumping SS and medicare age to 70 if, in the same legislation, the same amount of savings was taken out of every entitlement program?

Trump could come out and say let's eat shite sandwiches to fight the establishment and these motherfrickers would try to convince us to become coprophiliacs.

Well, there it is.

Trump is not a conservative. Never has been.

He IS a populist. Sometimes that aligns (particularly on social issues) but rarely lines up with fiscal conservatism.

Remember the stimmy checks, and how daddy had to send a letter letting you know what he did for you. How benevolent.

Thanks for giving me back my own money, Mr. President.
