I see other options, but my view is big gov't types like you, Gumbo and Trump will stand in the way of pretty much everything.

There it is. LOL. I love it. It's always your go to.

'm good with a 20% cut of every single f'n federal budget - social security/medicare included, and then another 20% five years later if we're still adding to our debt. Are you?

I'm good with getting rid of the GOPE that are globalist and NEOCONS that create havoc on our systems that would remedy the issues you are talking about.

You know. Real conservative policies. Not pretend ones that have been ingrained.

Like the policy that Trump signed that removed people from welfare...etc.

Would you trade bumping SS and medicare age to 70 if, in the same legislation, the same amount of savings was taken out of every entitlement program?

No. I would not. But I will take the cuts in entitlements such as illegals medical, foreign aide... wars...etc.

You want to extend SS. I want to END it. Like I said CLEARLY in my previous post, start with the ages that are not working. "You will not have. save accordingly."

Removing the social security tax cap is not America first nor populist.

It disparages highly skilled workers who make more than that cap. Not only do we pay more, it incentives business to keep wages stagnant because they also pay into those same payroll taxes.

All this does is encourage high skilled tech positions to be further offshored.

Congratulations, you played yourself.

LOL. It's like they think you can not be a populist and conservative at the same time.

These few are advocating for the federal Gov being allowed to steal the USA citizens money and some how equate that to conservatism.

First of all the cap sucks. But raising the cap is also a tool used by people that want to "save" SS.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever called you or Gumbo a big gov't type until this thread.

People define things differently. Mitch McConnell thinks he's conservative AF. Just ask him. You are like him. A self-identified conservative.

People thought the smartest man in the room Ted Cruz would destroy the Donald but little Ted got slapped around.

What will you call it when Trump institutes a $5 million net worth threshold or less to receive SS. Those people will have paid a boatload in. They will get zero $0.00 in return.

Is that stealing too?

How does that equate to conservatism?

JFC I guess we shouldn't cut any government spending because when those bills passed, well, that's a promise.

Just admit you're for big government when it affects you. And even when your "promise" was based on completely different criteria (average age of life).

Not what I was saying. Your MO is that you resort to name calling at some point. Always.

Has Gumbo done that in this thread? Not that I can see.

You are wrong again David. I'm nothing like Mitch. I do not support alot of what Mitch supports. including his trade ideas... and that's a biggie!

WRONG. Cut things not promised to our citizens. Don't cut what was promised therefore stealing it.

So much for Keep America Great. Let's keep a dying entitlement program because of a bunch of people holding out for a couple grand. Pretty sure I paid out quite a bit and I accept that loss. However I don't want my kids paying into the pyramid scheme when there are many more options for retirement.

Can't even adjust the age requirement either because the man himself said at CPAC he won't increase the retirement age. In an era where more people are living longer.

It's selfish and sad. They don't care about Americans; you only care about themselves.

eta: what's funny it's the same kick the can down the road bullshite the establishment loves anyways. The promises of reform, even Trump himself. Now it's hands off and Trump using the wheelchair over the cliff canard.
