No way increased police issues could be from years of steady increases in crime, self absorbed people that don’t recognize authorities, politicians who neglect constituents proper needs in cities, reduced government employees qualifications and a host of other issues that plague the country do to dumbing down society

Well, if it took that for her to accidentally get it right, then fine. And, I suspect you are correct.

She's still horrible. But, I really would like the general public to wake the frick up on our serious policing problem and stop with the "back the blue" bullshite.

And to do so, we need to stop making it about race, cause it isn't.

So, I'll take her accidental non countiness where I can get it.

Why can’t we just blame this on climate change?

Many are very aware but unfortunately if you aren't black your suggestions are immediately dismissed.

So until blacks become interested in working on this problem, nothing will be done.

She is a idiot. If you believe she got this right god help you. This is not a police problem in general. This is the publics problem.

I started in 92 and retired in 2015, this is spot on. When Mayors and city council persons start dictating policy things get really ate up. This is on both sides of the aisle but far worse under liberals.

I'm tired of people like you who think the life of a cop is worth more than that of a civilian. They're not. Not to say it isn't tragic. Any innocent life taken is tragic. But a cop shouldn't get any more consideration than any other victim.

Wow, blind support is every bit as bad as blind hate. So you support cops like Amber Guyger and Zachary Wester? The former unlawfully entered the wrong home and murdered a man on his own sofa. The latter planted drugs on dozens of people including grandmothers. They'll be happy to know you are stumping for them.

Did he say he blindly supported police? Did he say anything about other law breaking cops? Your post is ridiculous.

And he was super successful because ALL of his victims complied.

He was always super nice during the traffic stop and politely asked to search their cars. And these victims all stupidly thought to themselves, "I've got nothing to hide" and said yes.

But don't just look at him. He ENTIRE leadership should have gone to jail too. His rate of drug arrest was 3x that of any other officer in his department and not a fricking soul even checked until some new ADA showed up and noticed the anomaly. Even then, he gets away with it but for slipping up on ONE of his body cams.

Stop doing crimes. Stop resisting arrest etc and most of this crap goes poof like a fart in the wind. There are bad apples on every tree. Just because there is a bad apple you don’t cut down the tree.

I don't believe in defund the police per se but follow me here.

First, recognize that there's no such thing as THE police. Police come in a whole lot of different flavors from big city cops with tons of funding all the way down to corrupt small town cops who exist solely to fleece the populace and are getting paid barely over Wendy's wages.

What we need is a massive restructuring of police and yes, a complete elimination of certain types of policing/police departments.

We have towns of 4000 people out there with fricking 10 police officers. That's broken.

I would wager that the town of 4000 with 10 officers is a extremely safe place to live. I would also wager that the crime rate is really low.

I used to thing this.

Then, I noticed that every time some bad apple got caught on video and had to be dealt with, their were other apples there who
1. Did NOTHING on scene
2. LIED afterwards to protect the "bad apple".

I've seen numerous police kicked from the force or thrown in jail for their behavior, including three in Minnesota. Let's say, however, you did - as many leftists want - open up every police action to civil suit. Do you really thing you would have any ability to enforce the law whatsoever? If so, please enlighten me.

Either we have guns in the street constantly defending or exacting revenge or we have some body of organized law enforcement. I prefer to keep that body as close to the community rather than central government as possible, because there's at least some lever of local control. Also, you give zero credit to those who are doing their jobs right. If they were ALL or even MOSTLY bad, there would be bodies piling up in the bad parts of town every weekend... and the metros would be safer for it, sadly.

I'm not talking about real criminals being manhandled. I'm talking about innocent people having their homes invaded because dumb cops got the wrong address and shot their dog, grandfather, baby, etc. All of those have happened. In Michigan cops threw a f'ing grenade into the wrong house blasting the baby out of its crib. And the cops don't even care or bother to apologize.

Innocent people minding their own business get railroaded by cops regularly. And the "good cops" won't even bother to call out their bad coworkers. Grow up and get the boot out of your mouth.

The problem with QI is that it is so absurdly complete. I can't speak for others, but when I say end QI, I'm referring to the retarded idea that is current doctrine that says basically, the cop has to do something wrong that EXACTLY TO A "T" fits some prior act that courts have ruled on.

It's fricking crazy.

I don't think they should always be open to lawsuits but frankly, I also don't think they should basically NEVER be subject to them either.

Yeah, I don't know what the answer is to QI. It needs tweaking but dispensing with it altogether is unworkable, especially in our tort system. Maybe if we were more like Germany it could work, but not here.
