From his latest mock draft

quote:

The rumblings over the last few weeks is that the NFL LOVES Will Levis....

quote:

1. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: QB WILL LEVIS, KENTUCKY

via mock trade with Bears

The Colts are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback and can’t afford to wait and see who's available at No. 4. Instead, they move up to No. 1 and take Will Levis. Bryce Young is the more polished (and probably better) quarterback, but general manager Chris Ballard loves traits, and that’s what Levis has going for him. It’s a risky pick, but the Colts must swing for the fences to compete in the AFC South moving forward.

Kiper also has him #1

Did NFL scouts all happen to lose 2022 Kentucky game tape? Levis looks like a QB you'd build in a lab until you watch him play. He couldn't beat out Sean Clifford at Penn State. That's a huge red flag to me.

Joe Burrow also eventually won in college.

Some teams are going to convince themselves he's Josh Allen 2.0. They'll peg Bryce Young as too small, and label Stroud as a OSU "system" QB who won't have success in the NFL

Does anyone else get the Rick Mirer or Heath Shuler feel about Levis? He has everything you want, but there's just something you think that is not there, but you cannot pick it out, as it is always yeah but....

Both of these are correct, but Levis isnt good either. There isnt a QB in this draft that I would spend significant capital on. Even the "can't miss" guys fail 50% of the time.

It was Dwayne Haskins, not Barrett, and Haskins went on to throw 50 TDs and become a 1st round pick. He was a great college QB.

If you look up mediocre in the dictionary, you'll see a picture of Sean Clifford. Pretty different situation.

It means whoever wrote that thinks Young is better, but the GM of the Colts loves measurables.

It is so insane. I'm very certain I could do as good of a job at talent scouting as some of these guys.

Levis is much more likely to be Mitch Trubisky than Josh Allen.

Didn’t PFF also say NFL scouts loved Willis last year and he ended not even being a 1st round pick?

That would be a better decision than anybody drafting Anthony Richardson in the first two rounds

I saw Someone say it, but Josh Allen is going to get so many GMs and Coaches fired.

“Well Josh Allen’s stats sucked and he’s great now! Who care if the dude was bad in college”

All 3 of the top QBs could be busts, but Levis didn't exactly light it up against anyone with any talent this last year

He had 3 300 yards games, against Youngstown state, M-Ohio and NIU

He had less than 200 yards against L'Ville, Vandy, Mizzou, and Tenn.

I understand they love his physical stature, but as I said in a thread a week or so ago, Stroud is the same height, and produced as a far higher level in college. If people love Levis' physical traits, they should love Stroud almost equally
