Can you name 3 people who said this? I’m not sure I saw anyone say that Walker was the best QB this fall.

I'm on 24/7 board and have not read where one person who has attended practices has said this. Not one. Throws a great ball, no doubt. But not one has said he has looked the best. Be happy to admit that I'm wrong if someone can prove otherwise.

Dad says so! Just ask the STM fans who had to sit within earshot, or the STM coaches! ….. at least he’s not Holstein’s dad …. Goodness.

Perhaps the OP's bias is showing in claiming that everyone is saying Howard is the savior??

I think many people are acknowledging that the ceiling of the LSU offense and our potential to win the SEC and compete for national championships is limited if we stick with a QB who is reluctant to throw the ball into tight windows.

I'm confident that this coaching staff especially will not play favorites. They have had an entire season to watch JD5 and should have bowl prep and an entire Spring to evaluate whether the passing ability of Howard/Nuss outweighs the legs/experience of JD5 in giving us the best chance to win.

He is the highest rated QB LSU has signed since Ryan Perrilloux. He is a legacy QB and his dad had a ton of talent. What is a better story than that? The son of Jamie Howard leads LSU to a national title. Walker is going to have the most unrealistic expectations put on him. I just hope as a fan base we give him time.

Have you seen the kids highlights. Kids going to be good.

While the system at LSU wasn't a good fit, Trey Quinn had the highlights too. LSU is different from where you played high school.

"His highlights are unreal and according to everyone that has been at practice, he looks like he had more potential and a higher ceiling then all of the other QB’s on the roster. Our starting QB this year is a bum and can’t pass the ball at all - we likely go 11-1 with average qb play this year"

This is such a stupid statement. With the Oline we have any average QB would have been sacked so many times he would probably be out for the year by now. LOL. Howard will get his chance even if JD starts next year. If JD progresses then Howard gets some PT and takes the reins in 2024. If JD struggles again they won't hesitate to put Howard in and he would get his chance to show he is the better QB. It will all work itself out but please stop making ridiculous statements!

ver notice how brian kelly talks so highly of him? Kely also stated the kid has the most confidence of all of our Qbs saying WH knows hes the best Qb on the roster and didnt dispute it. That should tell you all you need to know.

yup

and any moron here who does not think brennan did not light it up in his three starts should be deleted from this site. that is some transgender type mental illness there. or any moron who thinks jd5 can pass better than him?

He was a QB3 this year and y’all think he’s gonna be the guy next year?

I’m curious to know why. Is it his star rating coming out of high school?

How many of you actually saw him play before?

OP -- I'm gonna explain it as best I can for ya. You can all call me stupid -- that's fine. Here it goes. I'm sure nobody will read this, but I'm gonna try to explain it anyway.

MANY people on tRant live in/around Lafayette, where Jamie Howard has lived for years and where WH was raised and went to high school. Many have seen him play, had kids that played with him, or played against him.

The buzz around Walker Howard started a couple years BEFORE he committed to LSU. There was NO DOUBT that he'd be playing college football somewhere when he was a Sophmore/Junior in high school.

Then, he got national recognition as a top tier college prospect. You can see that all over the Internet. That's important because that represents a consensus of experienced coaches/scouts/college level recruiters.

Then, he went to LSU and spent almost a year now working with top level coaching staff that have glowing reports of his progress and his development as a QB.

So, if you put "what you heard around town" when he was a kid together with "what you read" when he graduated from high school, THEN hear good things from his current coach at LSU about him.

Surely you can see how the confluence of those 3 things would lead a person to reasonably suspect that he MIGHT do well as a QB at LSU?

Honest question here -- does that make sense? Or do I just not know shite about college football, and been duped by "internet hype"?
