re: Taking both QB’s

I sure as hell don’t know how this will turn out but the only thing certain is we are NOT getting both those guys.
But if we did … Lane Kiffin would truly be THE Portal King.
It would be epic.

Shouldn’t LSU stay far away from this? Why take on drama when we are at the 1 yard line with Leavitt?
Because it’s fun. Give your balls a tug.

I think …..
CFB will keep getting worse and worse, and like you said-eligibility requirements go away- the NFL will go to Congress and demand protection from the competition that CFB poses to their league.
If a player can get 3-5-7 million a year in college, and get waivers for years, that’s a problem for the NFL.
Imagine if all the best CFB QBs did what Trinidad Chambliss is trying to do at OM right now. Tbe NFL would have a QB shortage.

TD has a premium form or you’re referring to other sites?
Yea. You don’t have premium TD? It’s awesome man.

he likes his chances better hanging around Kiffins offense.
If I played offense for LSU, with Lane Kiffin coming in — no WAY I’d transfer out. It could get electric on offense at LSU.
I don’t know what some of these kids are thinking. I’d stay, try to get the start, see what happens. If someone else would pay me any real money to transfer out, I’d figure I’m good enough for Lane to use me at LSU. If I couldn’t start for Lane, I wouldn’t think I’d get to start elsewhere.

Georgia's DL destroyed our OL and it didn't matter - our offense gets the ball out too quickly for that to matter that much.
Careful. This is still football. OL play still matters; always will matter. If your OL plays bad enough, you’ll lose no matter what.
I think your OL played …. Well enough. Not exactly destroyed.

Again, anyone who thought we'd start this slow in the portal is a liar.
Being totally honest with you here. I didn’t give one second’s thought to what I expect from Lane/LSU when the portal window opens. Not at all.
So much has changed in CFP in the last 3-4 years, I don’t believe anybody can say what is/is not “good” in recruiting anymore. It’s a literal free for all.
Again - you sound a little too worried about all this right now.

The program has just changed EVERYTHING. Coach, AD, players, GM - all of it.
Portal been open … 3 days?
But you’re discouraged. Because the last regime did it better.
You sound like you’re wrapped way too tight - know what I mean? Try to relax.
LSU went and got the best coach possible. Got off their arse and fired the last loser as soon as it started to go wrong. And has a lotta money to work with.
It’s gonna be OK.

Maybe … No?
After the corruption and predictable consequences Pete Carroll enabled at USC, he should be banned for life from CFP.
Why would LSU let him anywhere near the program? What possible benefit could he provide?

Yep, we’re screwed. Pack it in boys. I guess now we’ll have to get Walker Howard back from UL if we wanna have any chance of going 6-6 this year.

Don’t care. 1 RB does not an offense make. No one ever thought LSU 2026 season depended on a RB from OM 2 weeks ago.
Now that it’s not happening, we think it’s bad news?
I’m wait and see mode until 3rd week of the season.
People SHOULD be “clueless” about portal, NIL, recruiting right now.
It’s a dumpster fire, it changes every year, and the “rules” around who can talk to players/coaches and when they can do it are not seriously enforced.
I’m confused. I admit it. I’m not clueless, it’s just a completely chaotic situation.

For what? Hiring a new coach? Is there some rule against that?

I think all those programs have some national notoriety. They’re in P4 conferences that have a TV contract.
All those schools have a distinct advantage over G5 programs. The Sunbelt/AAC/Mountain West programs are at a huge disadvantage.
They’d have a real hard time just buying a Natty. They’d get looted by P4 programs if they tried.

What a GREAT idea! Good thing you thought of this-and posted it here for all to see.
Can’t WAIT to see what you think of next!

Yes, there is. All the other football programs that are trying to “buy a championship” every season. They’re gonna show up and beat your studs-IU does it. Vandy does it.
If spending way more than all the other teams guaranteed a Natty, we’d see someone do it.
But other teams get a say, too. Money is precious. And money spent has diminishing returns.
Also, it takes more than the “best” players. You also have to have facilities, large fan base, visibility for your players.
If your program has no national notoriety, great players won’t come.

What do you think Iowa would do in the SEC?
Uhhh …. They’d lose a lot. With good clean football and solid OL play.
And again …. Pointing to bowl games these days as proof of anything is naive. Too many players opt out now.
quote:
True. Bowl records don’t lie.
I think they do. So many players opt out, few bowl games feature anything close to the regular season team.
