Already you guys are putting unreal expectations on this kid.

He was a QB3 this year and y’all think he’s gonna be the guy next year?

I’m curious to know why. Is it his star rating coming out of high school?

How many of you actually saw him play before?

The same reason they loved Myles Brennan

I think its more hope.

But I think their hope is going to have to wait till 2024.

Like, I recognize your handle because we’ve both been doing this a long time. You know the answer: Most of these posters, while hilarious and entertaining, are fricking stupid as shite.

Before his weird injury in 2020, Myles was balling out even with one of the worst modern LSU olines.

I am thinking this is it.

And he will most likely struggle big time IF for some reason he is our starter next year (I don't see there being much chance of that). Our fans are not patient with development and will say he sucks after a few games. Experience is huge for development and perfect case scenario would be for him to slowly get live snaps and not have to be our QB immediately.

His highlights are unreal and according to everyone that has been at practice, he looks like he had more potential and a higher ceiling then all of the other QB’s on the roster. Our starting QB this year is a bum and can’t pass the ball at all - we likely go 11-1 with average qb play this year

I'm keeping tempered expectations but by all accounts from people who've seen practices this year say he throws the best ball of anyone in the QB room. That's all well and good but there's more to just throwing pretty spirals when it comes to playing QB. Can he read defenses, is he able to navigate the pocket well, hows his timing and accuracy?

I guess people are just frustrated with the passing game and think Howard can solve all our issues. It's a tale as old as time among the LSU fanbase, the best QB on the team is always on the bench

I am excited to see what he can do when he finally gets his chance though.

Saw his high school highlights. He is very good. He has strong arm like JD but more accurate. He is absolutely a pass first QB but with enough athleticism and quickness to extend plays. IDK if he has the mental processing to make plays in the SEC yet but all the signs in terms of his high school career and pedigree indicate that he was born with the right mental processing speed. The downside is his size.

Because tRant's favorite QB is always who's riding the pine behind the starter. It's a tRant classic.

Doubt anyone will look at his HS film and say he's not the future. The question is when will that be? Is he developed mentally enough to handle it next year? If he beats JD out then so be it but highly doubtful he's going to start next year.

QB2/3 is always the best player on the team in the fan's eyes.

No rational person is putting unreal expectations on him. The thought about him winning the starting job is due to his upside potential. He was QB3 due to the desire to redshirt him and because he has zero college game experience.

Well, his star rating is an indication of his potential and I have seen him play, he is very very good.

Same reason they thought Sol Graves would be a better replacement for Hodson.

The backup QB, or in this case the 3rd string QB, is always the most popular player.

and some fans think he's going to start over jayden daniels.

look, daniels is frustrating to watch, but in no real world scenario does he lose the starting position to a redshirt freshman with zero SEC experience if daniels is still on the roster.

then you have fans that think daniels is going to stick around to be the backup QB. news alert: that isn't happening.
