MSY - Parking be broke

Much like the shake machine, parking be broke at MSY. Terminal garages are "full" even though you can see spots from the street and cars are leaving. They are sending everyone to the old terminal to park Economy and ride the shuttle.
Build in an extra 30-45 mins if you are flying this weekend. I think they just want more people using that shuttle service for some reason.

Just park at a lot that offers shuttle service to the terminal, which will be cheaper anyways. frick parking in the MSY garage.

Parking used to be easy at the old terminal.
Its a clusterfrick nightmare now.
I used to regularly park at the airport when flying (pre-Covid, pre-terminal move), now I’m 100% Uber or drop-off by a friend.

It’s a fricking disaster. Before I realized how much of a problem it is a few months ago I got there and there were no options other than that economy lot. I didn’t have time for that so I had to Uber from Sam’s and leave my car in the parking lot.

I found it easier to park nearby and Uber…. Much cheaper and faster if you can work out a place to leave your car.

I quit flying out of NOLA out of protest. Their parking has made me miss 2 flights in the last 3 years. frick that shite.

And the lights/notifications don't work. I drove to level 4 and said full, I parked 3 spots over from the elevator. All the lights above spots were red, but there were plenty of spots open. Leave it to NOLA airport to build something that is half arse.

I booked one at a lot offsite last year. Made a reservation. Had an email, confirmation number, etc. When I got there they said they had no record of it.
Honestly, the only reason I would fly on them previously was because we had small kids and it was more advantageous to fly without connections. My youngest is now old enough to deal with it so literally frick MSY forever.

TOTALLY THIS!
I made 1.5M miles out of the old MSY. I know it was old, but for a weekly traveler on AA, it was one of the easiest airports in the world to navigate.
I live in Lafourche parish, and I could leave my house an hour and 15 minutes before the flight and have plenty time to park, and walk up to my gate.
