So people unlikely to be going to McDonald's in the first place. Got it.
well, yeah. They don't need to market the folks who already eat there.

What makes ZERO sense to me is ALL these companies already operate in countries with high vegetarian populations. Instead of researching fake burgers why not just offer a veggie option from the Indian or Other foreign McDonald's?
Seriously. I'd be happy to have more vegetable options in fast food. I can even eat a Morningstar Farms veggie patty that doesn't taste like hamburger. Why is so much money being invested into making chemical paste taste like shitty spoiled meat? It only makes sense as part of a larger effort to condition people away from eating beef.

Why would a vegan eat something that tasted and resembled meat? What’s the point of that? Vegetables are actually good, but so is crispy pork.
Remember when they sued BK for cooking the impossible patty on the same grille as actual meat patties?

Their goal is to market people who might stop at Burger King or Wendy's instead. A plant based burger isn't going to do that, obviously.

I remember when, before their lawsuit, McDonalds fries were the GOAT from being cooked in real beef tallow.
Vegans and vegetarians ruined it for everybody. McDonalds fries are now like the "new coke". Good, but not nearly as good as before.

Who is the intended audience for that crap? Why do companies keep trying it?
People who consistently rant about processed foods. Seriously. I had a conversation with a "vegetarian" I know. By the end of our talk she will never eat another Beyond or similar product again. The only thing that may be more processed than that garbage is a Kraft Singles, which is a molecule or two away from being plastic.

They’ve moved on to bugs
You will own nothing a love it! Eat your bugs!

If the pushing of fake meat at these restaurants doesn’t dispel the myth of market demand as the driver of corporate decisions for you nothing will.

Leftists and climate change nuts need to get on the plants and bug only diet so the rest of us can continue to enjoy our western diets, minus the fake ingredients, heavy sugars, and preservatives.
We all need to eat less but radical hippie diets are not going to go over well.

$1 plant based burger would take off.

Beyond sucks - Impossible is WAY better

The McDonald's in India don't even have burgers on the menu.
But eating deep fried spiders on a sticks OK?

This.
Put that on a Big Mac? Terrible. Go to Red Robin or name a "decent" place that does Beyond burgers? They are actually pretty good.
Key to me is getting burgers "dry". Much healthier. Bring it home and put your own mayo. I use a butter knife not a tablespoon. Put your own cheese. I put one slice, not 4. If the burger comes with a sauce like a patty melt, get it on the side and dip it. Dont put 3 ounces of sauce on your burger.

Sounds like a good time to pick up their stock cheap.

This is simple economics, if the hamburger tasted better and was half the cost, then this plant-based meat would be all the rage, but it doesn’t taste as good and it cost more, who the frick wants to buy that
Posted on 8/5/22 at 9:43 am to stout
Gates and Klaus Schwab won’t like this one fricking bit

Note to fast food companies: You want to dabble in non-meat options?
Then offer non-meat specific items. Stop trying to copy meat.
Salads have been on the menu for years and the sales speak volumes.
I would buy freeze dried veggies over fries/onion rings sometimes. Even freeze dries tomatoes/onion/pickles would add a nice crunch on a burger.
If you think people would reject meat-based tomatoes that taste like real tomatoes... you might be right.

Burger King slipped in fake meat and we were mad at our kid for not eating his food. Then we tried and it tasted like poison.
To be fair that’s just how all Burger King taste
