Some vegetarians really enjoy the taste of meat, but have issues with killing animals for consumption and/or factory meat farming.

I enjoy eating meat, and don't plan on stopping any time, but I can understand seeing a slaughterhouse video and bring turned off by it.

The ESG crap pushed by the major financial institutions and the WEF isn’t a conspiracy theory.

I really hope the refusal by consumers to go along with that crap will eventually cause corporations to push back hard on ESG.

It will inevitably cause them to lose money. Money controls everything. Even Blackrock and Vanguard have started reversing course by voting against green policies in oil companies. In the end, profit always beat principles

I am serious. We only know that flavor from killing and eating animals.

Most vegans weren't born out of the womb vegans. They enjoy the taste of meat, but the process is offensive to them.

Man. They were unbelievable back in the day. Think there is actually a this American life podcast on it.

I saw someone on Twitter say that nothing has shown the myth of market-driven corporate decision making like the push for fabricated meat products

IMO the issue is that white conformist moms aren't going to KFC or McDonalds regardless of what fake meat plant option you put on the menu. Your target demo can't be seen in the McD drive thru. Meanwhile, people who actually eat at McDonald's aren't interested and already have preferences, and other big demos (men, kids) aren't imbeciles who will eat something that tastes terrible for no good reason other than some misguided altruism about the environment.

Key to me is getting burgers "dry". Much healthier. Bring it home and put your own mayo. I use a butter knife not a tablespoon. Put your own cheese. I put one slice, not 4. If the burger comes with a sauce like a patty melt, get it on the side and dip it. Dont put 3 ounces of sauce on your burger.

I want a burger that weights 2 lbs, was cooked by a 400lb black lady in a shack and when I pick it up off the plate there is a pool of grease and condiments left behind to dip bread into

I am starting to think that actual customer support is becoming less and less important and it is all just some shell game that major financial institutions play.

It just all seems to be divested from reality.

I've always suspected that people are being paid to push this crap regardless of marketability.

Burger King slipped in fake meat and we were mad at our kid for not eating his food. Then we tried and it tasted like poison.

The worst part is:
-Now my son has ingested this GMO Frankofood
-Burger King gets to act like they are actually using the product because they are sneaking it in

I would not eat this shite if they paid me to do it.

You regularly take your kid to Burger King and you're worried about him eating a few bites of this one plant burger?

Fast food is poison. And the vast majority of fruits and veggies you buy at the grocery are GMO.

I had legendary farts after eating a BK impossi-whopper; I only later learned it was plant based bull shite.

I agree with you. I don't understand the concept of fake meat.

If you are a vegetarian, eat some fricking vegetables. Eat a salad. Eat a real veggie burger that is not fake meat - and there are some good ones.

I am far from a vegetarian, but I had a veggie wrap at a sandwich shop recently that was delicious.

A vegan eating fake meat seems counterintuitive.

I still don’t understand the point of this other than trying to force it on meat eaters.

Why would a vegan eat something that tasted and resembled meat? What’s the point of that
Two things here: Firstly, these aren't marketed towards vegans. They're usually sold with cheese and mayo. And it's pretty simple to understand why a vegan might want to eat something that tastes like meat. Most of us grew up eating meat and like the taste. I'm not vegan because I hate the taste of meat. That's like asking why people drink diet soda if they don't consume sugar.

That said, fake meat is poison and you shouldn't eat it. Have a black bean burger instead.

Chicken and cows aren’t bad. Pig slaughterhouses are pretty awful. The squealing is nightmarish

I gave it a shot with ground phony beef from the supermarket. Impossible was slightly better than Beyond, but both tasted like what they are -- mashed peas.

frick that noise.

GMO doesn’t hurt anyone I don’t get the hate for it. I get antibiotics and hormones, but a GMO is literally just a plant with favorable genes spliced into it from another plant to make the crop more resistant to pests, need less water or fertilizer, or grow faster. Without GMOs, there would be mass starvation
