Great place to be. Great weather, great scenery, fit women, and legal weed. What more do you want?

I didn't move to Denver when I graduated because of the traffic to get into the mountains. It wasn't that bad up until around 2010-2012. I've only been back once for Christmas when Breck opened that new lift. I don't know if I'll ever go back the crowds are insane. Vail was the same way. I'll stick to SLC. Better skiing and snow and the drive is like 15 minutes to Little Cottonwood Canyon for me from my parents house.

Salt Lake City is probably better than Denver in almost every way… as long as you can handle the Mormons. I don’t think I can.

I love Denver as a city. It's beautiful. The politics? Ehhhh it's pretty liberal. I'd live in Castle Rock or Colorado Springs, but the home costs are outrageous.

This is the answer. City itself is OK, nothing special. However the surrounding areas make it one of the best cities to live in the US.

All the bad things said about Denver are true. Roving gangs of homeless terrorizing downtown, Democrat rallys everywhere everyday, sleeping in your car on I70 is a weekly occurrence, the Rocky Mountains are hours and hours away then see the sleeping in your car part, and plenty worse stuff too. Tell your friends and family to stay away. SLC is soooo much nicer in every way, hell Houston is nicer. Stay away from Denver and the entire state of Colorado if you value your life, tell your friends.

When you factor in mileage + traffic, it's a hassle, and you don't go to the Rocky's as much as you'd think. The Rocky Mountains are not in Denver's backyard.

For instance, using the Zoo/City Park as a starting point due to its central location, and going to say...Echo Lake Park or Georgetown, CO, you're looking, at minimum, 1 hour. That's on a great day, as that doesn't factor in traffic, road closures, etc. Going further into the Rocky's, that's 2 hours. So, a 4-hour rounds trip. Unless you're camping out, it's extremely difficult to do many day hikes, skiing, and such.

This has not been my experience at all. Like others said, Golden and Morrison are 15 minutes from the city. I also hike in Summit all of the time. It's an hour.

Nah, that's just the local hipsters with a serious case of the munchies.

Just toss some Cheetos at them and they'll leave you alone.

It’s nice. Obviously a ton of stuff to do within a drive. I’d prefer Colorado Springs by a large margin though.

Lol’ing at the people in here talking about prominence of mountains. Reaching so hard to find negatives about Colorado.

It wasn't supposed to be a negative. Just saying there are bigger mountains elsewhere.

I love CO and the Rockies. You just glossed over that I guess.

World class airport with great outdoor activities nearby, but I’ve always left unimpressed by the Denver metro.

It also just seems depressing. I can’t put my finger on it exactly but everything is just brown and the buildings are blah.

I still have family and friends in Boise but I haven't lived there since I went back for summer breaks in college. I don't know if I could digest the population explosion

Ah, I just saw the Treasure Valley line in your profile.

Just got back from spending a week out there, and will be moving there in a couple months for good.

Bunch of baws running around in "Keep Idaho Great. Don't Californicate!" shirts shaking their canes at all the west coast transplants. Always got the stink eye when we said we were relocating there until we said we were from South Carolina.

You're not too swift are you?

Might want to go read his post again, this time a bit slower.

Swifter than most. What’s your point? 90% of his diatribe is false. Maybe you need a remedial reading course. Ok, I will admit tongue in cheek. You got me.
