“Officers are struggling to respond to crimes like car theft/burglary, but that’s a report a civilian could be trained to do!“

We’re already beneath the Social Worker idea

If civilians start "dealing with" the carjackings and thefts on their own (by responding with defensive violence), maybe they would finally start to subside.

A lot of agencies already use non-sworn personnel for "paper calls" where there's no potential for violence. This isn't a new concept.

The way for a civilian to deal with it would be to pull out a 9 and blow a carjacker’s head off.

The city going to cover legal fees for anyone doing this instead of the cops?

This is a set up. Perfect logic if you think it through.

You defend yourself against Democrat voters stealing your stuff. You succeed. The perp then becomes the victim, while the same person above goes to bat for the perp. Citizen is then arrested. Democrat party wins huge, again.

If my car was stolen, I would want more than a person to fill out a form in my moment of stress. What if my car passes by while I am filing out that form, can that person follow my car?

They could not follow and neither could an NOPD officer due to no being able to chase.

lethal force should be automatically allowed in all cases if your property of any kind is being destroyed, vandalized, abused, or any attempt to steal it. doesnt matter if its a bicycle, lawnmower, or a car, you should have the right to shoot anyone standing on your property attempting to steal your property or anyone anywhere not on your property that is attempting to steal, vandalize, or damage your property
