I know some of us wanted to draft him in the second. He was great with Baylor

Sorta sounds like a Hart type of deal, very tradeable given the lack of guarantees. I certainly wouldn't guarantee that dude a bunch of money. He seems like kinda a nut.

Yea, my very 1st thought when I saw 4/$82 was "eww" but I didn't see details, but 1 year guaranteed is more than ok.

He's a high volume shooter that puts "me first" like wood.

If he can dial it back it's worthwhile, but otherwise i can see it being waived after the year

That should be the betting favorite, but also worth the risk for this Rockets team at this time IMO.

I wonder what GSW is going to do with Draymond. There's no way they want to pay him to be on this team next year, not even considering what he just did.

I know they want to respect him for what he's done for them in his career, but if he was anyone else they would have said "We are working to trade you if possible, when that happens we'll let you know but don't come back to the gym again, your time as a Warrior has ended."

here's a trade scenario:

Pacers get Wiseman/Westbrook/23 Warriors 1st/27 & 29 Lakers 1st

Warriors get Turner

Lakers get Hield/Draymond

The Warriors haven't even punished him for this yet, right?

I don’t see giving up Wiseman, Dray, AND a first to get just Turner.

Dray and a first? That seems acceptable given it will be a first in the 20s and Dray is expiring.

Warriors are not giving up on Wiseman, he is going to play this season. And I'm not sure that trade even works. GS is waaaay over the cap. Can't take on Turner's $18 million while only giving up Wiseman's $9 million.

Well i wasn't sure if the 23 Warriors first would be needed. Guess it depends how much the Pacers value Wiseman. But yes i agree i think that may be too much.

Also, it saves the Warriors almost $20M in salaries this year, which is a lot more than $20M when it comes to over the tax amount, and it saves them almost $40M in salaries next year. That's why i was looking at a trade involved with the Pacers absorbing salary.

Draymond has a player option for next year, and there's no way he's ever going to make that much money again, so i seriously doubt he opts out of it unless someone says they'll give him a 3 year fully guaranteed deal around the same money or slightly less. I doubt anyone else in the league thinks he's worth $27M/yr.

He's on the books for $12M next year. He's proven nothing to them other than that they can win a championship without him.
If he plays well this year, then you're talking about giving him an extension this coming offseason worth probably 4/$120M, and i don't know if the Warriors would even want to do that. I don't think they want to attach him just to trade Draymond and get a bunch of tax relief, but you can also see where they probably woulnd't mind trading him at the deadline this year if he's performing well and they can get something of better value for him.

You missed the fine print about Draymond being traded as well.

I did miss that. That is a terrible trade for Golden State.

Draymond, Wiseman and a first for Myles Turner? LOL.

In your scenario, the Lakers give up Westbrook who’s on arguably one of if not the worst contracts in the league, and 1 1st which is 7 years away. I honestly don’t think you understand they have no bargaining power. They have to give both 1st up and people aren’t going to just trade Draymond and Buddy to them for that shite offer

Unless LeBron gets injured before the trade deadline or something they are most certainly trading their 2 available firsts this season.

Draymond is extremely valuable to Golden State. He is the Warriors' best interior defender (and an all-NBA defensive team guy) and helps facilitate their offense.

It's been rumored that the Lakers can trade Westbrook and the 2 firsts for Hield and Turner if they wanted to, but they've been holding out for a better deal. I don't think Indy needs more than the 2 firsts to agree to your proposed deal.

Something like this works:

Lakers:
Draymond
Hield

Warriors:
Turner

Pacers:
Westbrook
Lakers 27
Lakers 29

But I only think the Warriors would consider that if Draymond tells them that he's definitely opting out next offseason and leaving. Seems like the Lakers are getting the best end of this proposed deal.

considering that the reported offer from IND currently is buddy/turner for Westbrook and the 2 picks I’m not so sure. Short term maybe draymond is a better fit but I guess it depends on how you feel about turner

in any event I don’t think there’s any possibility that GSW trades draymond anyway. They have at minimum one more shot with this core and the chance at a couple more
