Fiscal policy vs. Monetary Policy
Keynsians vs. Friedmans
Dogs vs. Cats
Canes sauce vs. Chick-fil-a sauce
Hammer vs. Wrench vs. Screw Driver

I, for 1, sees this like a tool box. Different circumstances and context call for different tools.

The recession was intentionally caused to get rid of the inflation caused by too much stimulus. There could be a time for stimulus, but it would be AFTER the recession squeezes the inefficiencies and the inflation out of the economy.

Keynesian economics teaches that deficit spending in times of recession is a good thing.

That might have been applicable to the 1930s depression, but we are all out of ammo and cannot do it anymore. We are at rock bottom with no Keynesian tools left to use.

Its just the practice of prolonging suffering.

It is highly unlikely that direct stimulus payments will be seriously considered.

Fedgov was just looking into "free" gas cards, but stopped after they figured that they couldn't do it on account of chip shortages.

Likelihood is high. They’ll make a last ditch attempt to buy votes in the early fall.

Hate to tell you, none of the politicians do, party doesn't matter. They are all in politics to get rich and don't give a shite about anyone but themselves. That's why giving the government less control is good idea.

They don't even realize they're half the problem. Hyper partisanship is a disease. Salesmen sale and everyone keeps falling for the okie doke. Nothing will change until gov't becomes unpaid volunteer work.

Recessions are usually caused by high unemployment.

This recession is caused by high oil prices and a labor shortage.

So giving stimulus checks will actually make the recession worse.

And due to this.

Yes, the government will issue stimulus checks.
