Florida related question. We are in Orlando on average once per month. Are there any Puerto Ricans left in Puerto Rico?

Liberals absolutely go to Disney. I know a family of Democrats that goes every few months. Yes, Disney freaks.
On average, liberals are more likely than conservatives to own a passport and seek "cultural experiences" on vacation. Conservatives are more likely take a cruise (which Disney offers) or to go to places like Disney World, Branson, MO, or anywhere with a halfway decent golf course and day spa.
The average liberal likely cares WAY more about the streaming service and the content on it than they do about the theme park, cruises, or any of Disney's "experiential" products.

Yeah, but the problem is for Disney, it would cost them BILLIONS to leave FL now. And where would they go that that has the year round warm climate they need along with the politics favorable to their point of view? California sure, but real estate costs their are prohibitive.

My guess is this is an election year stunt and they quietly abandon this effort after the election.
Speaking of election year stunts...Pritzker here in Illinois is saying he's "putting money back in the people's pockets" by simply not raising the gas tax, which raises every year and is already one of the highest in the country. On top of that he's trying to force every gas station in the state to put up a sign that says the gas tax isn't being raised.
Imagine being so vain and thinking the populace is so stupid that you're going to force businesses to advertise that you're not increasing how much of their money you're taking. And they'll just increase it by more next year once the election is over.

Look, I think Disney sucks, but if you are going to talk about the amount of money Disney saves from this then they should also talk about how valuable Disney is to the state of Florida.
What if Disney up and announces they purchased a huge amount of land in South Carolina and will be building a brand new park and closing the one in Florida?
On top of that they don't sell the land preventing anyone else from establishing something else there.
A lot of businesses will follow Disney because that's where the people would be.
Florida needs Disney more than Disney needs Florida. Let's just call this what it is, DeSantis playing politics. Doing shite that will be popular with the base he will need support from on a nationwide scale. Its the things you do if you want to have a chance to represent your party as the presidential candidate.
This is probably more about making headlines than anything.

Grooming since the 60s at least, I wouldn't want credit for that

I wholeheartedly agree that Disney should pay their fair share, but this is going to have an unintended, detrimental effect on the consumer(s). With Disney incurring more costs, what do you think will happen?
Costs will either A) get passed down to the consumer which means higher cost of souvenirs, concessions, tickets, etc. (guess this means Genie+ is staying and probably will be more expensive) or B) more staffing shortages and less investment in the parks which also means less "magic" and "fun" for visitors or C) all of the above

The bill’s sponsor says the bill doesn’t actually dissolve the district and gives the legislature a year to review the district and potentially dissolve it. My guess is this is an election year stunt and they quietly abandon this effort after the election.
I think its a serious warning shot to Disney who was aggressively sticking their nose where it didn't necessarily belong and its a stay in your lane type legislation. The relationship with the State of Florida and Disney is just to large and important to get completely sideways....and it ultimately won't....
I will say "Big Ups" to DeSantis for taking a principled stand on this. I really don't understand where Disney is coming from and why they can't get their employees in line....in other words stick to business and do politics on your own time....I think its perfectly fine to come out and say they don't support it but I can't understand why they were so aggressive in starting a fight over this when it had the overwhelming backing of the Florida electorate?

You have no data to support any of this.

I look forward to the left melting down about Disney having to pay their fair share.
No doubt, there was a leftie in a thread yesterday absolutely melting down because a multi-billion dollar business may get denied special tax breaks. It's a wonder to behold and shows just how insincere they are

How much money would Disney have to spend on land alone to do this?
How much on materials and wages for construction?
How many years between laying out the initial payments and seeing ANY return on investment?
And is SC significantly different from Florida politically? If nothing else, it is worse from an income tax perspective.

The average liberal is also way less likely to care about sports, hence less likely to have an ESPN subscription.
This really is about the right eating its own tail and it is pretty hilarious.

Groomers that are obsessed with Disney will still pay all this.

Alphabet people are a tiny fraction of the population, regardless of what "the news" says. It stands to reason that they are a small percentage of the crowds. That being said, alphabet people most certainly due visit and a much higher rate than other groups, I'd wager. We have passes to several parks and can attest to many sightings of the purple hair pog eared folks.
If you take a look at them park vloggers/bloggers, you would see most are alternative, I have yet to really find a "conservative" theme park reporter. Evidence by them constantly saying "don't say gay bill."
