How long before the Constitution is discarded?

House Democrats have introduced a bill that would, if passed, declare an "unconditional war on racism" while establishing the "Department of Reconciliation" as a new federal agency.

"Declaring unconditional war on racism and invidious discrimination and providing for the establishment of a Cabinet-level Department of Reconciliation charged with eliminating racism and invidious discrimination," reads a summary of the bill, which was introduced on February 9th.

Over 30 House Democrats have signed onto the bill, with key co-sponsors including Congressman Ilhan Omar, Maxine Waters, Rashida Tlaib, and January 6th Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson. The bill has now been referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

The document makes several claims that the U.S. continues to uphold institutionalized racism before outlining potential remedies:

"Whereas racism and invidious discriminationlike poverty in 1964remain pervasive in our country; Whereas history is replete with examples of victims of racism and invidious discrimination being denied life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; Whereas systemic and institutionalized racism and invidious discrimination exist in virtually all areas of American life, including policing, criminal justice, housing, banking, voting, employment, education, the environment, and health care…"

The bill also invokes the death of George Floyd, claiming the event was a clear indication that it has become necessary for Congress to take decisive, immediate and long-term legislative action to address the elimination of racism and invidious discrimination."

In response, the bill outlines three actions to be taken by the House of Representatives, including condemning "racism and invidious discrimination as evil and antithetical to the United States Constitution."

If passed, the House of Representatives would also "declare unconditional war on racism and invidious discrimination in America and will provide the resources and funding for their defeat."

The bill calls for the establishment of a Cabinet-level Department of Reconciliation "charged with ending racism and invidious discrimination, developing and coordinating the implementation of a comprehensive national strategy to eliminate racism and invidious discrimination."

The agency's budget would be at least 10 percent of the Defense Department's budget, which stands at roughly $715 billion.

The proposal appears to heed "anti-racist" activist Ibram X. Kendi's demands for the creation of a Department of Anti-Racism (DOA).

"The DOA would be responsible for preclearing all local, state and federal public policies to ensure they won't yield racial inequity, monitor those policies, investigate private racist policies when racial inequity surfaces, and monitor public officials for expressions of racist ideas. The DOA would be empowered with disciplinary tools to wield over and against policymakers and public officials who do not voluntarily change their racist policy and ideas," explains the far-left activist.

How isn't it obvious to everyone at this point that claims of racism is how they go after people they disagree with?

I'd like the definition for racial inequity, racist ideas, and racist policies.

So the Democrats are proposing a cabinet level department that makes determinations of violation based on a subjective emotion?

Oh, this is going to go over well.

"Arrest him. I'm black and the white guy made me angry."

So they are going to end affirmative action?

Affirmative action denies someone the right to make a living based on race. It is the only legal form of racism.

And, when Republicans take over again, they can declare that the only systemic racism that has taken place over the last 60 years is that INSIDIOUS, RACIST institution called Quotas/Affirmative Action/Diversity and can award grants to anyone who was adversely affected by this RACIST GARBAGE. So, every white man between the ages of 2-95 will be entitled to a few hundred thousands dollars for all the times they were ACTUALLY (and not imaginarily) unlawfully discriminated against strictly because of their race and gender.

Liberal soyboys will be excluded from the program.

weaponizing Institutions, whether they be long established (FBI, DOJ, NSA, IRS) or johhny-come-lately agencies (like DHS, ODNI) is the problem that needs to be solved ...

quote:

In the era shortly after 9/11, the DC national security apparatus was constructed to preserve continuity of government and simultaneously view all Americans as potential threats. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) were created specifically for this purpose.

What Barack Obama and Eric Holder did with that new construct was refine the internal targeting mechanisms so that only their ideological opposition became the target of the new national security system. This is a very important nuance to understand as you dig deeper into this research outline.

Washington DC created the modern national security apparatus immediately and hurriedly after 9/11/01. DHS came along in 2002 and within the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 the ODNI was formed. When Barack Obama and Eric Holder arrived a few years later, those newly formed institutions were viewed as opportunities to create a very specific national security apparatus that would focus almost exclusively against their political opposition.

The preexisting Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Dept of Justice (DOJ) were then repurposed to become two of the four pillars of the domestic national security apparatus. However, this new construct would have a targeting mechanism based on political ideology. The DHS, ODNI, DOJ and FBI became the four pillars of this new institution. Atop these pillars is where you will find the Fourth Branch of Government.

I had no idea racism was so prevalent. I support black people completely removing themselves from white society. They should teach us a lesson by not allowing us to experience their diversity and cultural values. Maybe in 500 years they can share their advanced societies with us poor white folk to bring us into the new age of enlightenment.

Well, it is as successful as the war on drugs and poverty, we should see an increase in racism in the coming years.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how asking for an ID to vote is racist. I went to the doctor yesterday and had to show my ID. I went and picked up medicine and had to show ID. I'm still confused on this.

There is absolutely no bright line to this policy. It's like making a law that states: 'War on badness. We will arrest anyone who is bad.'

They're asking for trouble.

War on Drugs - Failed
War on Poverty - Failed
War on Terrorism - Failed

Let's just stop wasting money on declaring war on things. I mean, we already have plenty of laws on the books regarding racism.

Invidious has two definitions; 1) likely to arouse or incur resentment or anger in others and 2) unfairly discriminating; unjust.

For a law, something that's going to be used to fine, imprison, or force compliance; I'd rather see a more narrow word choice that can't at some future point be misconstrued or interpreted.

This is how the left lives their lives.

Don't hold me responsible I feel you are oppressing me and it makes me feel bad.

I move to throw out the murder charges against, Add Name Here, because they are being unfairly judged based on white institutionalized laws.
