Has anyone actually watched a Brady coached offense in the pros?

If you have, you would see how his offense has regressed from year 1 to year 2; how third down conversion rate and halftime adjustments have been non existent or anemic; and while his unit has hovered near the bottom on most offensive categories, the defense has made tremendous strides from last year to this year - in spite of being on the field more as a result of the offensive struggles.

Living in the past can be intoxicating, but also a fools errand. The support was there for Brady to succeed in Carolina, he just wasn’t ready.

We finally have a head coach who has an established identity on offense, defense, and special teams. He will hire to fit that identity, not look to relive a past that he was not a part of.

I’m not saying your take isn’t accurate, but some coaches are more fit for the college level.
I saw what Brady did at LSU, so what happened in the NFL doesn’t really change my opinion on him as a college OC.

Rest on laurels at your own demise.

Brady was a key factor in 2019 success! He was not nearly the only factor.

Get the best OC out there. Brady is not it.

Has anyone ever noticed that teams with far inferior talent lose more games than they win when playing superior talent? They were 5-7 with the most washed up QB of all time after the most over rated 1st round draft pick of all time was bummed out. Christian McC, who accounts for almost 40% of their offense when he’s healthy has been out. And tell me the name of a wide reciever of theirs you’ve heard of since Kelvin Benjamin!

You saw what he did at the college level with a seasoned play caller actually calling the plays while having discussion/input from Brady. How did he do in college when he called plays and was in control of the offense?

They don’t want to hear it. They think Joe Brady = Burrow, Jets, Chase and CEH every year.

I hope that’s something we’re willing to pay $3M/yr to find out!

There defense is good.

Brady is super young at calling plays.

It was a stretch to hire him. That's why i think he would be great paired with someone like brian kelly.

Another thing is the nfl isn't college. He can manipulate college defenses much easier.

Finally, some folks on here actually have some intellegent posts on the matter.

As a Panther fan who live in Charlotte, Brady came in with a ton of expectations and support, but did not deliver. HE was the one who chose Teddy Bridgewater last year and was allowed to run things like he saw fit. It did not work and Darnold was brought in with little to no sustained success.

Now, the OL is criminally bad, but TB had some comments about not practicing 2 minute drill enough along with some other things. This year, at least 3 teams have said that the routes were so predictable on offense that their DB's ran the routes for the WR's and got ints (if you watched, it was very clear, the DB's jumped the routes).

As quoted above, Brady was absolute money with a ton of talent and an experienced OC. When it was all on him, he could not do the small things that keeps a D on its heels.

Remember how Pootz was this year for LSU? It is eerily similar to what the Panthers experienced- a bad OL and the OC calling plays that the OL and QB are not very good at executing. Top that with getting plays in criminally late and no rhythm and you get constant frustration.

I am not saying Brady was the only reason for the Panthers lack of success, as the OL is criminally bad, but Brady did no one any favors. There is not many QB's who would be successful in that situation (if any).

How many jobs has Sam Darnold taken from coaches?

What he did in the NFL is incredibly irrelevant to college football. There's a million examples of this, but just look at Saban and failing without a QB.

Also WTF? Sam Darnold, Teddy Bridgewater, Cam Newton? They spent capital but on the wrong people.

I don't know if I even want Brady but you guys are just making up terrible arguments.

Pretty good. He called the 3rd down and red zone calls for LSU that year and I believe they were some of the best in the country.

Who lobbied for Darnold after interviewing for the Jets opening and was given the green light by the Panthers to pursue it? They gave up a good bit to acquire him. If you watched the Panthers after his arrival, your response to this post would be better thought out.

Can’t argue with this… even when he was at LSU the WRS never ran open on design … every throw and catch was incredible because damn near everyone of them was contested
