Recruiting seems to be moving into its own department and it’s not going to pay Ed what he thinks he should be paid.

Lmao. O wanted to change to the 4-3, so Aranda left for a better job. O hired Bo Pelini installed the 4-3 front. Now tell us again how that turned out. 5-5. ROTFLMAO

It is. And I sent that exact sentiment to my college friends this morning. The text was "We should have just traded with Florida in October."

As I said in another thread, you hire Will Hall and you don’t look back. RMFW

Woof. Would have thought there were a lot more talented coaches itching for this one.

Also would have thought that the A.D. would have been looking around the country for a coach especially after Sumrall was in consideration for the North Carolina job last year.

A Tulane friend said recently that Will Hall is gonna be the safest hire because they think it'll help them hold onto the talent they have on the roster, and commitments. We'll see. I told him that sounds shortsighted.

He didn’t do well at USM. I hope Tulane doesn’t fall apart.

Is this a good hire or is this just because all of their preferred coaching candidates turned them down?

Hopefully a VERY short leash, if he doesn't produce immediately then yank him after year 2. There should be no program-builder contracts at Tulane these days.

Tulane is doing exactly what I feared they would do. After being used to step up twice they go with a safe internal hire of a guy who failed elsewhere

I was hoping they would be bold again.

Also think that Hall can continue the culture that was set by Fritz and continued with Sumrall.

Fans are saying that they will hold off donations and won't buy season tickets.

Like I said in another post I'm not aware of the Southern Miss athletic department so I don't know if it was an the athletic department problem (people have said that USM didn't have a bunch of NIL money), Hall, or both for his failed stint as head coach.

Ed wants whatever is going to pay him the most. His agent reached out to Louisiana Tech as well to float his name in the event of an opening.

Worst thing about making a bowl for La Tech was keeping Cumbie around.

That was the same exact talking points and group think in Martin Hall that led to us promoting Dez to HC when Napier was leaving.

Granted, at least Will Hall has been a D1 HC, and coordinator.

Tulane fans can never argue again that their program is a stepping stone job university
