He's done well at ULL. He knows the area and can start recruiting right away. He's a play caller and he coached under Saban.

Unproven winner at a high level. He’s a solid coach, no doubt. Just not good enough to be LSUs first option. He’ll be considered if the list dwindles to that point.

He coaches at UL... He is persona non grata to the douche bags around here.

I don’t hate him, I think it would be an underwhelming hire

I’m guessing most people’s gripe would be that they think the qualifications for the LSU job should be better than “done well at ULL”

Doesn’t mean he can’t succeed here

I think there are some who don’t really know anything more about Napier than that he’s ULL’s coach. Yet they feel qualified to comment on his ability as a coach.

Those who do know more about him realize he’s a great candidate and aren’t surprised to hear his name in the mix.

This and it’s a shame. Most of these people dont watch college football outside of LSU in the first place. They just hear a name and make an informed judgement. I’ve never seen UL at this level before and most of the credit goes to him and this athletic department

He is going to go sooner than later... I'd rather him at LSU than to leave the state...

Where do y’all keep getting this crap?

The meathead mark hudspeth was coming in first and second in the sun belt yearly. Only difference is that Napier had covid year where they played only one power 5 pay day game instead of multiple

Because Napier hasn’t coached on the big stage. I’d rather land a top tier Power 5 coach than pull a Tennessse and wind up with a Derek Dooley.

I dont have a "lead candidate" opinion. But I do have Napier on my list of coaches I would like to see interview. If Woodward sees him as the best candidate and hires him, I'll give him my full support.

P.S. Can someone help me pronounce his name? Does it rhyme with T-Pear?

Fan egos

Most wouldn't know a great coach attributes if a list of those attributes was handed to them
