Key word being "threat". As all of them when proper HC hires, can and have made deep and dangerous tourney runs.

OU, if not for Danny Manning wins a Tubs title in late 80s. Hollis Price and Co made strong early 00s runs. OSU with 1995 and 2004 Final Four berths, and a stout history. Baylor on the climb as a program. Texas always dangerous under Barnes, and looks to have a large and capable team again this year for the first time in a while.

All this non-sense and forumgasming over Saban is old
Its the coaching changes board. The only spot open worth talking about is the UT job and LSU fans did not INVENT the RUMOR of Saban to Texas. Did we take that ball and run with it....yes. Did we embellish and make interesting but not so plausible theories.....yes. This is not a Bama board that LSU fans are flaming, this is an LSU board that Bama fans flock to. So try not to get to worked up about some LSU fans having a good time speculating on Saban's future. We have walked in your shoes.

Imho, Nebraska not as much so, of which I have great doubts Huskers may be headed down the same longterm path say Tennessee is in terms of in-state talent and longterm sustainability if trying to emulate former successes.

Maybe, but that division they will be in starting next year is easy easy.

Yes I understand you have been there but I was saying it was getting worn out because there is an element of other teams' fans who just can't let it go. I was actually addressing those who are STILL worked up over Saban. I'm not worked up at all over his status. If he stays, great...if not it's hit the road jack, que sera sera, happy trails to you, so long it's been good to know ya, and five other golden oldie farewell song lyric lines that I can't think of right now. Point being that there's no need to turn every thread in this board into a Saban status thread. I'm not trying to flame either, I was just adding my voice to the discussion and trying to bring some different perspective to the subject. We're good though, I enjoy your posts by the way!

Thanks. This is a very slow time of the year and the speculation has been entertaining.

Saban isn't going anywhere.

Gruden has expressed interest in the Texas job. Fisher isn't going anywhere, the ACC is good for easy wins year after year. Gus isn't going anywhere either.

The problem Texas is having is the same one they always have, too many cooks in the kitchen. It's a political nightmare and all the money in the world won't help you if you hate your bosses and you have 50 of them.

Unless Gus or Jumbo take it or Harbaugh surprises us, then I think they'll make a decent hire but not a great one.

Also IMO, Franklin would be a terrible hire.

No he said he hopes they'll call him. But I doubt he'd take it.

According to OrangeBloods. You caught that right? Of course, that is the source the experts here are relying on.

Because they are still ready to hire Saban. How hard is that to understand? Jesus

I'll bet you wouldn't feel this way if Saban came back to LSU. We don't hate Saban because he left LSU - we hate him because he went to Bama.

Did he agree to sign the contract, or did he actually sign it? What's his buyout? Also, I heard Mike Tirico gave him some bad stock market tips.
