Nothing. Neither know much if anything at all.

Max got worse with Peetz here... Maybe he can be the water boy for the QB coach

I don’t really agree with this. It’s really hard to coach arm strength and pocket awareness.

Peetz is not a bad coach. He was put into a tough spot and was not ready to be a play caller. He could stay on and coach QBs if BK likes him.

Maybe just have Peetz call the 3rd down plays.

What about footwork? What about pre and post snap reads? What about that internal clock? Max did not improve in any of these areas throughout the season. So, what did Peetz teach him exactly? The playbook?

never showing sustained improvement

Hold up now. They did fix Max’s desire to throw behind the back no look left handed passes he showed in game 1.

The fact that this could possibly be true.

Peetz will not be calling any type of plays next season.

The statement that BK and Peetz are tight is true though. I mentioned in another thread Peetz is selling his ideas to Kelly. Peetz is a good talker. Possible at saying on, would say 50/50 shot.

Regarding Golding: Baker isn’t the only one pushing for him to get the DC job.

For your argument to be valid, we see the same Max that we saw last year.

We saw a WORSE Max. Regression is real, I get it and alot of it is probably in the scheme.

I trust Kelly, but for a school that doesn't get great QBs, I want an elite coach to get the best out of what we get.

I actually really like the idea of Peetz staying on as position coach. I agree with an above poster, just wasn’t ready to call plays at this level. But was highly thought of as a position coach at the NFL level.

There’s more to being a college position coach than an NFL coach. What has Peetz delivered as a recruiter? We need our position coaches to be above average or better in this regard and he’s still a relative unknown there.

It may have been that Peetz was so in over his head as OC that he didn’t have the time or focus to devote to working on Johnson’s mechanics. I agree it’s not a good look, but Kelly would not be the first to believe he’s qualified to be a QB coach given he had that job for two NFL teams. Heck, his staying could explain Johnson leaving. Of course, that might not be a good trade, at least in the short term.

Peetz as tight ends coach...maybe.

But even then, you've got to be a recruiter if you're the tight ends coach.

I don't see any upside to Peetz on the staff. Everything about his work product was awful. Unless he's this hidden gem of a recruiter, this wouldn't be an awesome move.

And I haven't heard anything close to that, so...nah.

Need help understanding why retaining Peetz is a good idea
it's a fine idea if he's just an analyst breaking down film. Nothing more

He'll be the most expensive analyst in college football

It's easy to throw Peetz under the bus without knowing how much O was meddling
Do I want him as OC calling plays - not right now
But if BK thinks he can be an asset to staff than I'm not arguing
Peetz was good enough to be part of Bama staff twice and in the NFL with multiple teams - Washington< Oakland and Caroline
This past year doesn't make him a terrible coach
He might flourish under another head coach

I don't even know where their paths would have crossed.

But this makes the hire of Denbrock that much more apparent. He coaches the TEs. You'd need somebody for QB room.

Peetz is a good man with a big family.

I know that doesn’t count, but maybe some of what happened isn’t his fault.
