I'd prefer Decoster over Mangas if we can somehow convince Peetz.

Peetz - OC
Callaway - PGC/QBs
Faulk - RBs
Joseph - WRs (if he's not let go over Title IX in which case you give this to Callaway and QBs to Peetz)
Decoster - TE
Cregg - OL

And then defensively if we get Freeman

Freeman - DC/LB
Davis - DL (if true)
Raymond - DBs

McMahon - STs

Crazy that we'd only have three defensive coaches and no reason to split up CBs and Safeties.

If that means we have an extra spot then I'd let Freeman be the DC and get someone else to handle LB or let LaCouture be a full time coach.

This will never happen.

Calloway can't replace Joseph, for obvious reasons. Joseph might get fired, but it wont be Calloway replacing him. UNLESS there are other moves made.

Whatever your mysterious point is is irrelevant.

Joe Brady was our wide receivers coach. It’s where he spent the majority of his practice time and it’s his specialty. The only reason he wasn’t called the wide receivers coach is because we needed Mickey Joseph in a recruiting position.

There is no way you are attracting Freeman by telling him he will only have 2 defensive assistants.

I don’t see any way of getting Peetz, Mangus, and Callaway all on field positions in the current scenario.

I'd be shocked if we landed Freeman. He's the hottest name in college football up and coming. He'll probably have other interviews for G5 HC openings.

Hell Marshall may hire him.

He'll most certainly get to interview at Texas as well.

Joseph is the only position coach mentioned in the Title IX situation so who knows what will happen to him

OK and Ensminger was the QB coach.

The point is that there aren't enough spots.

2019
1. Ensminger OC/QB
2. Brady PGC/WR
3. Cregg RGC/OL
4. Joseph WR
5. Robinson RB

That's 5 coaches

For 2021 (Hypothetical)
1. Peetz OC/QB
2. Mangas PGC/WR
3. Cregg RGC/OL
4. Joseph WR
5. Faulk RB

There is no room for Calloway (or Mangas, if you put Calloway at PGC) Even if you name Calloway the QB coach, that still 6 coaches on offense.

What they actually coach is not relevant. They still take up a spot.

In 2019 there were:

5 offensive coaches
4 defensive coaches
1 ST coach

Now you have some people proposing 6 offensive coaches and 3 defensive coaches. There is no way that will fly. No top defensive coach would agree to this.

Maybe they know Joseph is screwed from Title IX and Peetz is OC/WR coach?

Maybe. But there is a reason Joseph is on staff and if he goes, Peetz cannot fill that role, for obvious reasons.

That's gotta be the thinking.

He knows brady's system. I knew o wasn't going to abandon it, so it was always going to be a weird hire.

I think it will be fine. I don't know if i like the mangas hire

Brady played the position, where else on the offense would he coach?

What is there to like about this hire? I keep seeing this I'm being serious. Explain to me why this guy is so interesting? I don't know anything about him.

He was going to be the Colts OC when McDaniels took the job, before he backed out of the job.
