Name an nfl coach that took a college position but finished out the season. Not saying it doesn’t happen, but all the examples given have been college coaches.

holy shite what dramatic hyperbole. We are in no rush here. LSU can pick up a good DC any time of year before spring starts. There’s a very small number of guys we might miss on by waiting a few weeks. quote:

Kyle Shanahan comes to mind. Maybe Matt Patricia, too. You could be correct that it's more of a college thing, though.
