Name an nfl coach that took a college position but finished out the season. Not saying it doesn’t happen, but all the examples given have been college coaches.

Its funny how people bitch all the time about players “quitting” but are pissed that a coach wont quit on his team that has super bowl aspirations.
He wouldn’t have to quit anything. Sark is a perfect example of this, and he was an actual coordinator. He’s going to wait and see if he gets offered an NFL DC job, while O sits around with his thumb up his arse.

Lol, you specifically said, its not like pro players really need a position coach, so you were advocating for him to quit his job to take the lsu dc position.

Didn't work that well when he did it last week. Another public spurning might teach him to simmer down.

but if he is our pick, we offer and it doesnt work out...someone should be fired over it. Period. O or Woodward. But that would just be a complete failure.

holy shite what dramatic hyperbole. We are in no rush here. LSU can pick up a good DC any time of year before spring starts. There’s a very small number of guys we might miss on by waiting a few weeks.

Kyle Shanahan comes to mind. Maybe Matt Patricia, too. You could be correct that it's more of a college thing, though.

I hope it is Nielsen and that we hire him when his season is finished in February. I hope O has some kind of informal deal worked out with him already. That is the vibe I am getting based upon the statements he has made in the last couple of days.

Yea, so let’s get Pete Jenkins or some other dinosaur who you guys emotionally need.

While I will certainly miss him, it’s better he get a promotion via LSU rather than another NFL team stealing him via promotion.

It is inevitable that this dude would get some offers considering his resume of outstanding production.

You are arguing something that I’m not arguing.

All I said was Orgeron knows where he stands. He knew where he stood with Kiffin.

I never said, or even hinted, this was a done deal.

Well, he won't be waiting long if this is the guy Nielson. Saints will stay at home after the Bucs game this weekend watching Brady against Rodgers the next week.

Look Derek, nobody trusts y’all asses after NOT INTERVIEWING ANYONE last year. His hiring has been shite outside of Brady. We have no idea about Peetz..

They blindly follow o no matter what.

People have a right to be nervous about the dc hire.
I think he did good getting peetz, since they want to keep the brady offense.

I just hope he does the same for defense. I really don't think it's going to be nielsen
