You can hire Nielsen without him leaving his current post until the season is over. Happens all the time.

Has Nielsen been in Louisiana long enough to learn to make a proper roux?

I was patient as a pimple faced HS kid too... It was primarily due to the fact girls were not interested in me at all.

Curious why a hold up if he's the guy. That's not really a valid excuse.

Used to be recruiting. With the early signing period I don’t know if this is the case anymore.

But it used to be that if you had a vacancy on staff, the head coach could recruit more. If you hire and name a guy, who’s too busy to recruit you would lose out on those contacts.

Why would he have to be patient and wait a few weeks for Golding? People need to stop putting this out in the universe.

While I hope that it’s not Golding, if canning Golding is in the near future for Bama wouldn’t LSU have way more to gain by him getting canned first so they don’t have to pay Bama a buyout? Wasn’t that buyout one of the things that made Arnett unattractive?

So O somehow knows Golding is going to get fired? Saban is just waiting to fire him because...?

Besides fan talk, there is no evidence Saban is planning to fire Golding, or is even unhappy with him.

That’s just the rumblings I’ve heard, I was simply giving justification to the poster as to why it is possible he could be waiting on the Golding thing. Again, I don’t want Golding, I want Nielsen, but I would imagine O knows more (if there is more to know) about that situation than you and I. I’d imagine if Tennessee cans Pruitt Saban would rather Pruitt come back than Golding, who has not been a great DC for them.

Glenn Schumann LB/Co-DC

Neilsen DL/Co-DC

A man can dream right? And I think Schumann is on the short list with Neilsen.

Two great recruiters and position coaches. Two great pedigrees. I have to think they could put together a sick defense.

Take it for what it’s worth after last Friday but ole boy from AYS saying that Saban really likes Golding, it’s that Golding dislikes Saban.

I believe this. I also believe that Saban is losing a lot of coaches this year and would prefer not to also lose a DC if he can help it.

Y'all have that backwards.

Saban has said the defense was ok this year.

There is a reason golding is interviewing with teams

That's not surprising, who the hell actually likes Saban? He has always been an a-hole, always will be one too.

He may get results, but he will always be a jerk off.
