He gone!
He seemed a little pissed during that interview. Whether it was being turned down or most likely just annoying media frickin his players mindsets, who knows.

lol. You think there’s only a slight chance he would leave Arizona for A&M?
He just signed an extension with Arizona in the offseason, and he should have a really good team next year as they enter the Big XII.
So he can either compete for a potential conference championship and NY6 bowl, or he can jump into the pressure cooker of Aggieland just as Texas and OU are joining the SEC party. He might go for the latter, but I don't think the chances are good either.

Texas A&M just paid a guy like 100 mill to go away
You take that job

How do you mean? Like if I was a head coach? Or if LSU wanted Jedd Fisch? Because I wouldn't expect Fisch to leave for LSU in this situation either.

He’s going to double his salary easily with an SEC or Big Ten job. For that reason alone it is a near guarantee he would leave. He’s barely making more than a high end SEC coordinator

I think if Day is in play, it's because Ohio St wants a change and is sick of losing to Michigan. This year would be 3x in a row and possibly 3 beatdowns in a row. And this would be an opportunity to avoid having to buy him out. This would be their loophole to get out of the money owed and possibly even get a little from A&M ($5M) in the deal.
I don’t see OSU parting with Day, or, Day going to aTm unless the Aggies offer insane money. Plus, OSU is a better job than aTm - Bama and Georgia are the only schools with consistently better talent coming in.
OSU getting rid of Day would be dumb. They would be more likely to take a step back than take a step up with getting a new coach.

I think DeBoer wants a raise at UW. I think Day wants some appreciation but is still a long shot. I think A&M settles for a second tier coach.
I would be excited about Fisch, and he would come here in a heartbeat.

I agree with this. I don't see him coming to A&M.

Jedd Fisch, Arizona Wildcats Making an IMPACT | Head Coach on Culture Change, Proof of Concept
This is from two weeks ago with Andy Staples. He sounds good and would have a great plan moving forward.

I never said he won't leave, but I don't think it's necessarily a sure thing right now.
I know this board thinks every coach is mercenary, but most of them are actual people with families. I've seen guarantees before that guys like Fleck, Campbell, and Kiffin would have bigger jobs by now.
Fisch almost died of a heart condition when he was in the NFL, and he has already job-hopped around the country. Now he's finally succeeding as a head coach at a P5 program. He might just want to chill for a bit.

That's not really the mindset of most D1 football head coaches in their 40s.

I don’t see any championship banners from her lifetime there. It looks like A&M’s softball success predates UW’s softball program, who has been to more college World Series despite being just 30 years old.
