My ex had an affair with her homeless, unemployed alcoholic 2nd cousin.

Was trying to explain this to a young relative. I wasn't trying to change their stance but they asked why I thought Trump won the election. Said basically the Republicans know not to go to far right and they will probably keep getting center/ center left voters. Or if the don't get those votes they wont vote for the democrat presidential candidates.
The Dem’s biggest mistake was running Biden again in 2024 without a contested primary. They chose to hide him until they couldn’t and it was a disaster. By that time, they had no choice but Kamala. A candidate so bad in 2020 that she dropped out before a single vote was cast in the primaries.

As people think it is. And as the candidates start emerging the question will be asked “is this guy even better than Franklin” I mean Franklin had a damn good run at upper 2nd tier Penn st. Battling Oregon, osu, UM I don’t think elites are gonna line up for that gig. Outside of this year I think Franklin MAXIMIZED Penn states ability to win and has made them believe they are more capable than they actually are. They will be down there with the likes of the huskers and Michigan state soon.
Better question is what does Oregon, OSU, and UM have that PSU doesn’t?
- PSU campus is 3 hours from NYC, Philly, the DMV, and Pittsburgh. Other than USC, what other top 10 historical program has access to such a large population area within 3 hours?
-107K capacity stadium currently undergoing a nearly billion dollar renovation. Despite being 2 hours from civilization, they still draw 100 plus every game. Same as UM and OSU. Autzen is nice but tiny
- one of the largest alumni networks in the country
In hindsight, Paterno mailed it in after the 1994 season as you can’t argue that PSU wasn’t a top 5 program from the late 70’s to early 90’s with some years being the best. While entering the B1G was the right move in 1993, you can’t argue that PSU slipped as PSU didn’t adjust well to living in the B1G culminating in 4/5 seasons with a losing record in the early 2000’s.
They had a resurgence from 2005-2011, but not where the program was prior to 1995.
The perfect example of the B1G affecting PSU was the rise of Wisconsin - the Badgers for nearly 3 decades seemed to have a never ending stream of stud running backs from New Jersey. Prior to 1993, PSU would have locked down a lot of that talent that went to other B1G schools.
Franklin did a good job building the program to where it was from 2005-2011 prior to the sanctions, but couldn’t get the program to where it was prior to 1995. He couldn’t rally the high dollar donors for various reasons which is critical in the NIL era.
The current AD is a fantastic fundraiser. It can’t be understated how bad the Sandusky scandal affected fundraising. The big reason is the University did nothing to defend itself and threw the football program under the bus.
It just straight up wrote blank checks to ANYONE who made a claim with zero vetting. Most PSU alumni think the Sandusky investigation didn’t go deep enough. The big dollar alumni were overall loyal to Paterno and didn’t trust the university. This caused some friction with O’Brian and Franklin in his early years.
It was VERY well known in PA that Sandusky ran a charity for at risk boys which was the largest supplier of foster services in central PA. This charity was under the direct supervision of the attorney general’s office. Sandusky found all his victims through this charity. Once Sandusky was found guilty, the investigation into the charity stopped as they decided to cease operations.
Now that the Sandusky scandal is 15 years in the rearview mirror, there’s starting to be a large cadre of alumni who were at PSU at the end/post the Paterno era entering their prime earning and donating years who don’t have the blind loyalty to Paterno. Hopefully the AD and new coach can rally them.

Idk if Elko would have any interest or not, but this chick also unironically listed Ryan Day as a potential candidate.
It all depends on how many death threats Day’s kids get if OSU loses to Michigan again this year.

Their offense is legit - Horvath should be getting Heisman attention as well. However, their defense has been giving up big plays the last two weeks and I see them dropping a couple (Memphis, ND).

Completely wrong take. Penn State has some of the best turf in the country and SOP is to keep it short.

I just had another thought and will put it here instead of incorporating it above. The other issue with a saddle is any serious cyclist will ship their weight fairly often. You sit on the saddle differently when climbing, hammering on flat ground, and soft pedaling for example so it really is impossible to have a saddle that is very comfortable in all situations.
I would also add the shape of the saddle is dictated by how upright you ride.
The traditional road saddle tail is slightly upswept, wide at the sit bones, concave in the middle, and rises up to the nose.
- the upsweep in the back is there for when you are climbing in the saddle, it prevents you from sliding off the back.
- when you are hammering on the flats, your hips naturally rotate forward, and you are on the “rivet” or nose of the saddle. Usually only your taint is touching the saddle
- when carving turns, the long nose gives your inner thighs a place to help turn the bike.

It’s a shame this truthful comment has so many downvotes. Maybe the perception of their dominance has withered somewhat w the passage of time, I saw them in person beat Ohio State 63-14. It was unreal. Penn State was stacked w pros and their offense ran at peak efficiency. One of the top 5 most dominant teams I’ve seen in my lifetime.
One poster said PSU got lucky against Indiana - PSUhad a 21 point lead with a minute left. I.U scores on backups, recovers the onside kick, and scores on a Hail Mary against backups to make the score respectable.
PSU’s 1st quarter miscues put them in a 21-0 hole against Illinois on the road, against the number 1 defense in the country.
PSU had 3 90 yard, 12 plus play drives to pull out the win. PSU’s offense dissected Illinois with surgical precision for 3 quarters.
The 1994 OSU team was LOADED with under classmen who would play huge roles on their 1995 and 1996 teams (Eddie George, Joey Galloway, Terry Glenn, Orlando Pace, just to name a few)

The Sandusky saga is much, much more complicated than what has been reported nationally. Would make a great Netflix series.
1. Sandusky ran a charity that was under the direct supervision of the PA Attorney General’s office that provided foster services for troubled youths and families in Central PA. It was a favorite charity of the PA GOP. This is where Sandusky met all of his victims. Yet, no investigation of this charity.
2. For the 1998 incident, PSU Police had probable cause to arrest Sandusky. The Office of Attorney General put the kabosh on this. Even if Paterno knew of this investigation, it’s moot because it was investigated and the proper authorities didn’t charge.
3. The boy in the shower incident was first reported by Mike McQuery to his father and a Dr Dranov, a primary care physician. Dranov testified under oath at both the Sandusky trial and the trial of the PSU President that what McQueary reported to him did not rise to a reportable event as all McQueary told him was he saw Sandusky in the showers with a kid but didn’t see anything sexual. Creepy, yes. But not against the law.
4. It was found later on that McQueary waited 4 weeks to tell Paterno. Conveniently the day after a position coach position opened for the then grad assistant. Sandusky had been retired for a couple of years at that point.
5. The boy in the shower WAS known - he came forward and told Sandusky’s investigators as well as prosecutors nothing happened, as well as wrote an Op Ed saying the same thing. Then, his story changed 4 years later after Sandusky was convicted and after he received settlement from PSU.
6. The AOG admitted to McQueary they made up “McQueary witnessed Sandusky sodomizing a kid” in the grad jury presentment. Sandusky was found not guilty of that specific charge.
A few things happened on the political side of things:
-2012, for the first time ever a Democrat was elected attorney general. She ran on the platform of finding out why Sandusky pulled the wool over the AOG with his charity as well as the slow play of the investigation.
- she uncovered the AOG prosecutors had a nasty habit of exchanging porn over state computers and email addresses.
- she was scandaled out after she leaked grand jury testimony from another case.
- Tom Corbett became the first governor ever not reelected. He was the AG when the Sandusky investigation started in 2008. Nothing happened with the investigation for two years (and two more victims added to the rolls) until he was elected governor,

[quote]Stop. Heads up when he had AK against KK he rivered the ace. Very lucky. That’s not GOAT — It always takes some luck at one time or another. As in team sports, your record says who you are. He had 7 bracelets and 2 wpt titles prior to this win. He’s already proven himself. You’ll see poker flash in the pans who may get hot for one year, then disappear. Guys like him are steady winners thru the years, so it’s really not luck in the long run. [/quote
Yup, rivering an A when holding AK isn’t lucky. Lots of people stay in the hand with AK if the cost isn’t high hoping to catch a K or an A on the river.
