I believe Rick Neuheisel would be the first reputable named source to report the Saban to LSU rumors, correct?

I don't believe this. I just can't get past the fact that he is probably making somewhere in the millions per year from ESPN even though it is undisclosed and would leave that one day a week job for the pressure and cluster that college football and NIL has become for any amount of money. But one never knows until we know.

If it’s Saban, which I doubt, there would be no reason to wait til the end of the season. The only thing you would wait for is the new President announcement (which is tomorrow), and I guess it’s possible he may prefer it be announced after the Bama-LSU game has passed.

It would start leaking this weekend and likely be announced next week.

Again, not saying it’s Saban. We’re all aware that’s probably crazy talk, but if by chance it were true you would have an announcement in the coming 2 weeks IMO.

Also if it’s Saban, he is clearly choosing the AD, so the timing of an AD announcement is really not all that important when it happens.

Let's pretend for a moment that Saban were to return.

He wins one, potentially two, additional titles for LSU.

What if he doesn't? What if he goes 8-4 next year? Now the retirement talk starts up again. Fans will say he's old & washed up. Saban himself will probably wonder why the hell he came back when he didn't really want to.

I know as a Bama fan, Nick had let the culture degrade the last few seasons. Lack of leadership & accountability. Lots of selfishness. Bad coaching hires.

Plus, he just looked really tired on the sidelines. He had list alot of the fire & ebergy he had just a few years prior. I think Nick was smart to leave when he did & would be even smarter for him to enjoy his retirement.

Goofy? What about at least making an attempt at the greatest football coach to have ever walked this earth is "goofy" to you? I mean hell, if there's any 74 year old coach out there that a school would want, it's Saban.

If he can have players bought for him

He’s gonna look a lot less tired

We’ll see what happens. This all may just be a bunch of Bologna, but if Rick Neuheisel reported it on XM radio, then my goodness.

If The other rumors that we’ve had reported this week must be true

Think how damaged the brand would be if Saban comes out of retirement, recruits well...and doesn't win

Saban doesn’t strike me as someone that likes to sit around the house or on the beach twiddling his thumbs and napping and watching Netflix.

According to the commercials he's in, he's been busy painting his living room and running an Air bnb.

Dont kid yourself. Bama would show Deboer the door, sell every trailer in the state and offer Saban 120 million if it looked like he was coming to LSU.

That being said. Saban isnt going back to coach in this chaotic era of NIL.

People are just having fun. I hope that people don't actually believe that a bunch of LSU fans truly believe we are getting Saban. It's just having fun. Let people enjoy this ride. Nobody honestly believes it, but they don't need to be reminded over and over. Who gives a shite, let them have fun.

I think his own and Bama fan expectations burned him out.

Maybe he wanted a bit of a reset and a new challenge.

And fans wouldn’t lose their minds if he didn’t immediately win a natty. They’ve experienced the process here and have been victims of it for many years.

I don’t think it’s happening but also wouldn’t be totally shocked
