1. Kirby
2. Saban
3. Brian Kelly
4. Harbaugh
5. Kyle Wittingham
6. Ryan Day
7. Dabo
8. Chris Kleiman
9. Lincoln Riley
10. Lance Leipold
11. Kalen Deboer
12. Matt Rhule
13. Mike Norvell
14. James Franklin
15. Jonathan Smith
16. Mike Gundy
17. Dan Lanning
18. Mark Stoops
19. Willie Fritz
20. Sonny Dykes
21. Kiffin (added to appease crying Ole Miss fans)

Admittedly, it gets pretty sketchy after about 15 because there’s probably 10 more coaches that could be lumped in.

He’s the second best coach in America according to “west coast guy with creepy homosexual traditions.”

Honestly Whittingham should be 3.

Can’t say he’s better than Nick or Kirby but what he’s done at Utah is pretty amazing.

He’ll never have the talent that other guys have but he consistently wins.

Switch Riley and DeBoer and Lanning and Rhule and it’s a pretty good list. Maybe switch Harbaw and BK but that’s splitting hairs.

If I started a program from scratch with no inherent advantages I’d be hard pressed to find someone better than Whittingham.

Kelly at Number 3?! He has not proven to be number three. Ever since he took over LSU, he lost 4 games last year and lost 3 so far this year. That is 7 losses in 2 years!

Would have Lanning and kiffin top 10.

Slide Kelly down to 7 or 8.

1/2 are saban and Kirby and nobody else is close

I'm not arguing that's he's top 3, but you need perspective. LSU was supposed to lose 6-7 games last year.

He built that team out of duct tape and super glue in a period of 6 months. He was down 30 scholarship players

Hell, he's still down 8-10 for this season.

Imagine playing with 77 players, when everyone else has 85.

We are talking about right now. Not in the near future. No one knows what the future HCs ranking will be like. Kelly will not get LSU to win a championship in the future. Did you know Kentucky had House as their DC? He did a very good job. What happened to House at LSU? Maybe it isn't House that is the problem. Might it be that Kelly is holding him down in some way. Something about Kelly just can't get a championship at Cincinatti, Notre Dame, and now currently at LSU.

I think based on coaching records, it’s not a stretch to say BK is top 5. However Dabo deserves to be top 3.

I mean Jesus dude. Behind people like Chris Kleiman, Lance Leopold, and Kalen Deboer. Did you see FSU play football from 2017-2020?

Definitely a valid argument. These are opinions.

Those three were good quicker with less resources and recruiting footprint than Norvell.

He was losing to Jax State two years ago.

The gulf is not big, though. I like Norvell.
