Why is OM making offers if no one else has?
It’s not so hard to believe. That’s exactly what A&M did for Jimbo last year.

It’s part of his job to help with NIL and he failed at. Congrats on getting an a baseball coach as an AD who failed at about 90% clip on his hires. You hired our Ray Tanner. Good luck.

Thanks bro
I will enjoy the next 50-100 posts with you saying the same thing. You seem to be stuck on it. We got your shitty AD so good for MSU.
You seem really invested in our program and that's also appreciated.

You could have just said LSU Got Alignment.

He could have just said LSU hired an elite coach for less than what Mel Tucker makes

As an ole miss fan, I was sad to see Cohen leave MSU.

Dude. The reason or NIL contributions skyrocketed after he left wasn’t for spite.. he literally didn’t do a single thing to promote the NIL. No one had a clue what to do. He sat back and did nothing with it.
After he left, and said that, the admin said “hey fans, do this to join the NIL.” And we did.
Cohen literally didn’t communicate at all with the alumni about the nil, and was astounded it wasn’t doing well.
That is the AD you just hired.

Cool
It really makes no difference to me. I have no control over any of it.
If he is successful in pulling Kiffin to AU then he’s already way ahead of what I expected. I’m guessing that will be why you are mad he left MSU.

Which is basically the same thing as offering by talking numbers with Sexton.
Classic example of end of season Sexton Shuffle. I wouldn’t be surprised if sexton manages to even get Jimbo a raise out of this( just joking).

Difference in AU and MSU is Auburn doesn’t need an AD to push NIL, the collective is rolling on its own.
Also apparently Cohen has dramatically changed his tune because he emphasized NIL in his introductory speech but also the things he was saying at MSU doesn’t really fit the “he didn’t care about NIL” from State people. He sounded kinda frustrated they weren’t doing more.

If you’re a Mississippi State fan, you should be concerned,” Cohen said. “We’ve never gotten outmoneyed in the SEC because we’re an equal partner in the Southeastern Conference. We receive the same distribution that everybody else gets. But when it comes down to passing the hat around an alumni base, I’m concerned. Our friends at Alabama or Texas A&M or Florida or Georgia or you name it, their hat’s going to end up being a little bigger than ours, and that’s a concern.” Cohen said he has already seen bigger programs in some sports leading the arms race. He said he had heard three other SEC baseball programs had more NIL money at their disposal than Mississippi State’s entire athletic department. And while that might not hurt the Bulldogs yet, it will soon, Cohen promised. “This isn’t punching us in the face — yet,” he said. “This isn’t going to get us — this year. If we’re not competitive in the space, it’s going to be the next year and the year after that.” While Cohen expressed his disdain for how NIL has become in ways a pay-for-play scenario for many college athletes, he said all MSU can do for now is play by the rules. Cohen bluntly requested funding Mississippi State’s NIL collective, The Bulldog Initiative. He even pulled up contact information for attorney Charlie Winfield, the man in charge of the collective, on a PowerPoint slide. “The bottom line is, our collective needs money,” Cohen said. “It can’t come in $5 at a time, although we’ll never push that aside. Our collectives need money. They do. That’s how we’re going to survive this thing.”

Must be why Ole Miss could only get 17 4/5* to watch the biggest game at Ole Miss all year while 36 4/5* came to watch poor ole lowly Auburn

You guys currently have a recruiting rankings of 51 with a coach who didnt recruit. Kind of proves my point that you still need someone to actually recruit / fundraise / etc... Even with built in advantages, you still need someone to actually do the job.

I love Lane but if there’s one aspect I wish he was a little better at, it’s recruiting. I still maintain Freeze is one of the best, if not the best recruiter in the nation.
But hell will freeze over before Cohen hires him

Lol. You can’t be serious.
I can name 3 in the SEC currently better than Freeze.

Compare Oregon and USC and 2005. The resumes would be even more ridiculously lopsided at that point
College football and what helps a school win has monumentally changed in the last 15-20 years. It’s only fairly recent that all school have gone all in with facilities and money
