Golding's wife is an Ole Miss grad, but so is Muschamps.

They were paying over 1 million for McGriff... so, yeah... they’re gonna have to break the bank on the next guy.

I don’t mean this the wrong way, but Money is about the only redeeming quality the ole miss program has right now... so you gotta use it.

Seems like a good move. Show fans the program wants to bounce back.

The offer was 1.3 with incentives. Golding is staying at Bama though.

It’s on to Mike MacIntyre for Ole Miss.

Alleva just decided to split the cost of an actual head coach between the two. Makes perfect sense!

Working on Saban's defensive staff is like hitting the coaching lottery.

Would be a better head coach than Luke. Tough sledding trying to win at CU.

Golding hasn't told Ole Miss no yet but I'm not sure I see it happening

Brad Logan
?

@BradLoganCOTE
Following Following @BradLoganCOTE
More
Alabama co-defensive coordinator Pete Golding has declined #OleMiss’ offer to be its next DC, per @FootballScoop

Expect the Rebels to put the full court press on former Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre for the open position.

It's just a proxy for a search committee. Golding was a quick rising coach that Saban just put the afterburners on for.

Golding has yet to tell Ole Miss no. Macintyre's interview is tomorrow so I expect him to tell Ole Miss tonight.

Even if they hired Pete Golding's doppelgänger, he'd be better than McGriff. Or at least more entertaining.

Pete was quite the character at Delta State from my understanding. Most I know that know him are very surprised at his level of success coaching college ball. He wasn’t known to be super bright.
