His agent is just using Ole Miss to get him a raise at Alabama. I can't think of any reason why he'd leave to go work for Matt Luke for a year. I'm sure he'll get a bump in salary and stay put.

This.

As weird as it sounds, we have a better chance at McIntyre

In which case, we'd hire someone that pulled an Urban Meyer, because covering for assistants and giving them raises and promotions for beating on their girlfriend for years isn't nearly as bad as banging a hooker. Makes sense to me. lol

OMspirit-247 says it's not true and that Mike McIntyre is fairly likely to be their next DC. Also, BOL publisher Tim Watts (well-connected) said earlier this week that Golding is not going to Ole Miss or Oklahoma; he wants to stay at Bama. Golding is on the road recruiting today. That wouldn't be happenning if he were seriously considering taking a job elsewhere.

The Spirit said they hadn't heard it, not that it's not true. The Spirit gets all of their info from Ole Miss sources who may or may not be honest. RebelGrove sources information from outside Ole Miss, but they are saying that there is less optimism. Not sure what Bama's counter offer is but it sounds like a good one.

Saban: Would you rather coach under me or Matt Luke?

Believe what you want, he is out recruiting today. No way Saban would let him be on the road recruiting, he would pull him like he has in the past with potential candidates. The fact he has is recruiting means he has told Saban he is returning. But believe whatever you want.

I don't believe anything one way or the other but I do know he hasn't said no yet. I suspect he will at some point tonight. Which is weird since we offered the deal he wanted.

Don’t imagine it will be 3yrs at 1.5 million for CoDC. If that offer is legit from OM and he turns it down , it will likely be for other reasons than money

Alabama paid Lupoi around $1 million as a position coach. I suspect they can go higher than that to keep Golding.

Golding has finally told Ole Miss no.

Ole Miss will now offer Mike MacIntyre the job. Mike wants to be a HC though so we will see

Bama went 12-0 regular season Saban's second year with almost all the starters Shula recruits and won the national title with a 14-0 run Saban's third year and 16 of 22 starters were recruited by Shula. Coaching matters.
