I have a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from Alabama. I wouldn’t change that for the world. It’s one of the best departments in the country.
So true. When the initial news broke in July, he was called a “major booster” by some national media outlets. Just a lot of sensational coverage these days.
That piece of shite Joe Goodman needs to be at the top of the list.
He was the content creator. He wasn’t running the entire NIL effort.
People will still believe the bullshite peddled by rags like Al.com and the like though.
These takes are weird. Opening the season at 11/13 in the polls and expected to be a borderline CFP contender with this younger roster? Hardly irrelevant. Most of the fanbases doing this chirping might want to look in a mirror to see the definition.
Only going to one game this year. So far. Got tickets for a Nashville weekend.

Probably going to go to the Iron Bowl though.
wtf does this even matter to anyone? I have never spent more than a few seconds looking at any previous season’s team photo. And I’ve sure as hell never taken the time to critique some photos of another team.
It apparently depends on Ancestry’s updates.

Did the initial test in 2017. It updates periodically and it swung from 40% Irish to 40% Scottish over time.

Rough breakdown now is:

Scotland 40%
Ireland 25%
England 20%
Northwestern France 15%
That’s kind of how going into the workforce of your chosen profession works.

I know it was down in Alabama. And even regional wise. Can’t speak nationally. Alabama missed on some spots they needed to fill. But it’s still a small class even if they landed those guys.

And its amazing how you guys are knocking down Saban after all the titles and enjoyment he gave you as fans over his tenure.

No one is knocking Saban. It’s just the truth of the matter. He was 72 years old. He was putting more into the program in those last few years than he could afford. The assistants and coordinators were no where near the caliber he employed earlier at Alabama. It showed up in development.

And as much as Saban tried to help with the transition, Alabama got hit with two long portal windows that don’t even exist anymore. The depth got undermined. We lost a ton of younger guys.

DeBoer has rebuilt the roster but he’s got to stop losing to teams he shouldn’t and being non competitive in some games. Despite some depth issues in 2024 and 2025, he has fielded a team more talented than most all of his competition.

All that to say, DeBoer inherited a great situation but it’s not the perfect situation everyone just assumes.
Alabama 9-3

Talent for 10-2 or 11-1 if everything goes perfect. But I know that won’t happen.

Time will tell if it was the smart play, but signing a small class and investing in current roster and portal. If they aren’t back on track for 2028 we could be in trouble but early returns look good there.

damn that’s crazy didn’t realize that. Injuries can derail even the best of careers

Nothing got derailed. He just wasn’t used the same in 2022. Still a top five pick in 2023 draft and dominant for the Texans.
Does Ole Miss fan understand the 3-4 multiple defense?
Will had like 23 sacks in 2021. He was a beast. Golding misused him in 2022 though.
Go downtown to the oyster house. Or Avenue Pub.
It’s the reality of college football right now. Alabama has a lot of NIL but not as much as several others. They have money to sign top five classes. Just not every year. Time will tell if it was smart to invest more in the existing roster and portal than this recruiting class. They are going heavy into the 2028 class. So it seems strategic. But what do I know?

If my team had the 42nd ranked recruiting class in the country and 2nd from last in the SEC to go along with the worst NIL and a post Saban era with a deer in the headlights coach... Yea I'd feel the same way.

Crazy they’ve signed top five classes in 2024, 2025, and 2026 and won 11 games last year. Because surely all of that above is true and static.
