Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby will be the new coach at Mississippi State, the school announced on Sunday.
Lebby has been the offensive coordinator at OU, Ole Miss and UCF, with high-tempo and prolific offenses his hallmark. Since 2019, he's been coordinator an offense that's scored 50 or more points 14 times, leading all active offensive coordinators.
Lebby agreed to a five-year deal, according to ESPN sources. He replaces Zach Arnett, who lasted less than a full year as MSU's coach. Arnett was hired in the wake of the passing of Mike Leach.

Solid hire. Showing the wannabes how it’s really done

Good hire. OU fans bitch and moaned about him yet he had the best offense this year. Defense lost them their games; they just won't blame a legacy like Venables.
Truth is Lebby is a great offensive mine.

Oklahoma is 4th in CFB in offensive production in every single category.

He just put 69 points on the board a few days ago.
Oklahoma fans are idiots.

iPod king is a true retard
Anyway, I have a theory that these air raid/Briles coaching tree guys ain’t the answer anymore. But Lebby seems like a good fit at MSU.

Our athletic dept does a good job of this. Honestly from Mullen on they’ve done a good job. Even Moorhead even though he didn’t work out was considered a great hire at the time.
The thing with Arnett was unfortunate and just a bad situation we were forced into. I have hope Lebby turns it around. He should be a guy who can hit the portal and bring in some offensive talent at least

Why would OU fans do that? Now who will be the next OC for OU? That might not look that good for OU. The HC is a defensive HC. So that will be harder for the HC to find a reasonable replacement. Plus, the players will have to learn the new offense all over again.

Will they allow his FIL on the field after games?

The only question that I have about this hire is do you put restrictions around how involved his father in law can be? Oklahoma had a situation where his FIL was on the sidelines during a game and had to answer questions about it. It seems his FIL really wants to coach again/consult. Is State ok w his FIL having a role?

I would be shocked if Art Briles steps foot on our campus.
